Motsion 10/23 w/ Mor Wen

Transmission for Palestine, Volume 2, is a 24-hour program aiming  to delve into the history of Palestine, engage in discussions about the ongoing genocide, and unite artists worldwide in solidarity with Palestine, taking a resolute stand against the occupiers.

Editing the 24-hour solidarity stream dedicated to Palestine, which we recently hosted, posed its own set of challenges.We are ready to announce that the edited stream is now out for sharing with all of you. Please bear in mind that certain portions of the stream may not meet optimal quality standards. This is due to our operation from a home studio, equipped with basic tools, where we worked tirelessly for over two days.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who participated and contributed to the success of this event.

In the upcoming weeks, we will be releasing videos from the talks on our YouTube and SoundCloud channels, complete with full English translations. Given that some artists expressed their statements in their native languages, you can expect to hear statements in Spanish, Czech, English, and Arabic.

QOW has provided a written statement addressing the events and sharing insights into his set.

Artist Statement: Qow / Omar El Sadek :

''The continuous drone. This never-ending buzz sound of surveillance drones occupying the sky and soundscape of Gaza. It’s that omnipresent sound you can hear in every single video coming from Gaza in between tons each and every airstrike. It’s the sound that doesn't leave enough space and silence for Palestinians to rest, sleep or grief. I decided to dedicate my slot on this stream to sonically reflect on this minor-yet-deadly torture method inflicted by israel on a whole population''.

''What you hear is a popular Palestinian Nasheed sung by Hamza Abu Qenas titled سوف نبقي ھنا (We Will Stay Here) stretched into a 1.5 hours long ambient drone''.

“The book ‘Cosmicomics’ by Italo Calvino is often described as a cosmic allegory, while dissolving various literary genres in an undefined manner. One of its stories, ‘Without Colors’, is set in the primal time of planets before color and language exist. It explores the first encounter, recognition, and perception flow of two beings, as they innocently explore their interactive chemistry and the outer world. The planet transforms from a uniform grayness into a colorful spectacle. What is beautiful to one soul may not be so to another. For me, it’s more than one way to perceive it just as a romantic story. The Manas (分别心, Sanskrit: मनस), a notion in Buddhist Yogacara that explains the lens of human consciousness, observes the world, and generates recognition, can be seen a metaphorical process from the story. While Manas and intelligence awaken, bringing forth infinite colors and joys, it is also the origin where all afflictions start. ” (Ylateau)

The ICE LP was created by Maxim Wolzyn over a period of three years, mostly whilst touring throughout Germany by train as part of the Günther Lause duo. Spread over eight tracks, the LP poetically captures the complex networks of railways and tunnel systems that carry with them the thoughts and feelings of millions of people, aspiring to attain an overall impression of the collective consciousness of a society on the move. 

Inspired sonically by the soundscapes of urban spaces, rail stations and the pulsing motions of modern mass transportation, various field recordings are mixed with reverberating synthesizer patterns and percussive composition, creating a mixture of straight forward techno and dystopian ambiences. 

While being reminiscent of Berlin's dub techno tradition it also transcends the typical club context, moving into the realm of the intimate and personal.
