Laryssa Braga ou Larysss é Dj e Produtora Cultural atuante na cena de Belo Horizonte desde 2018. Começou a discotecar em 2019 e integra os coletivos Discothèque e Ayô. Sua sonoridade é baseada nos sons com que teve contato desde criança, com grande influência da musicalidade dos anos 80, 90 e 00 sendo principalmente na música negra onde ela encontra a inspiração para criar sets dançantes, felizes e cheios de groove, com tracks que tem influência do pop, soul, funk, disco, house, techno e seus subgêneros.

An excerpt from SAB's interview for Frisky Radio: "...it draws me in when a mix or a single track tells a story. From a different point, it sometimes feels like mourning for me. Trying to understand the music while listening, getting lost in it, and making yourself a part of that music come first because I can find this in the Progressive style most. Lourene nasceu em São Paulo e desde a infância iniciou sua carreira profissional na música, mas foi em Curitiba, onde mora atualmente, que introduziu seus conhecimentos também no DJing. Técnica e versatilidade são consequências da intimidade que desenvolve quando expande suas pesquisas entre diferentes vertentes da House Music, Techno e Trance dos anos 90 e do presente, sempre em busca de sonoridades analógicas. Características que elevaram sua experiência com a música e a transportaram para apresentações únicas em diversos festivais, festas e boates em seu país, na América do Sul e também na Europa. Assim, ela foi a primeira mulher brasileira a tocar na RTS FM e foi igualmente reconhecida ao participar do “Pulso” - Red Bull Station (São Paulo), destacando-se como “Vanguarda de um Movimento Cultural”. Como vocalista e compositora, ela conta com diversas colaborações com artistas de todo o mundo, com críticas importantes no Resident Advisor. O dinamismo das conexões com outros produtores na realização desses trabalhos a incentivou a incorporar um novo formato de apresentação aos seus dj sets, e depois “A.I.R.” nasceu.

Mustafa Ismaeel is a DJ and Producer from Toronto. His multicultural background has a major influence to his music and triggered the universe of his music: he was born in Iraq, grew up in India and Canada.

Besides producing an DJ'ing, Mustafa is also the driving force behind Deep House Toronto, an event and podcast series hosting local and international talents to showcase their music.

Mustafa already charmed us with his carefully crafted and compiled mixes and it is a great pleasure hosting the storyteller with another gem of a mix.

Mezcal | Mustafa Ismaeel

Ernest Hemingway liked his cocktails strong, fresh, and slightly bitter. So his favorite bar in Havana, Cuba, created a Daiquiri-like cocktail for him with no sugar but double the alcohol. This eye-catching red cocktail got the name Hemingway Sour and we are honoured to present Namito’s interpretation of it!

Namito, or Ali Khalaj with his real name, grew up in Iran and escaped to Berlin during the Iranian revolution and the region’s subsequent years of war. In the commune of the Osho cult he learned to DJ, and, after the fall of the Berlin Wall, Namito’s exceptional skills landed himself a residency at the legendary Tresor club and he became an ever present force within Berlin’s expanding techno scene. 

The Tresor residency was the kick-start of an exceptional career of the DJ and producer including other high profile residencies, various full-length albums, collaborations with the world’s best producers and releasing on imprints such as Kompakt, Systematic Recordings or Kling Klong. 

Recently, the lead single of Namito’s 2018 album, “Letting Go”, a collaboration with Ruede Hagelstein, was widely regarded as one of the year’s best tracks. Stone Flower, another outstanding piece of music released in 2019 on the lovely Sol Selectas, topped the dancefloor charts for a long time and is still in heavy rotation across the globe.  

Namito’s productions have a very intimate, personal character, as art is his way to process struggles. In uncertain times, not matter if as an artists or just in general, it’s helpful to hear from people like him; it reminds us that there always is room for optimism in the throes of chaos and despair.

It is an honor to feature such an outstanding artist on our channel, and we are calling for another round of Hemingway Sour!

Hemingway Sour | Namito

A tender caress in the ears, a fruity sensation reminiscent of summer, and a driving, refreshing taste; An experience full of mellowness and energy at the same time, with lots of tenderness, romanticism, affection or friendship. This is our sommelier’s review of Budakid’s fantastic Rosé. He drinks it on the rocks, by the way: 

Kevin Huizing AKA Budakid is a Tilburg (NL) based music producer and
dj. As a kid he started as drummer in a drum ensemble, this is where he got his first taste of beats. Having a good sense of rhythm helped him as an aspiring dj and soon he landed his first residency in one of Utrecht’s most popular clubs. 

As it happens with a lot of dj’s, dj’ing only wasn’t enough. So Budakid sought out to prove his worth as a self-taught producer. Influenced by the likes of Joris Voorn, Stimming, Trentemøller and acts such as Massive Attack, Radiohead and Caribou, the Dutchman developed a very unique melodic style. A typical Budakid song has floating melodies, the right set of chords and some strong, energetic vibes all mashed together. Such as his most recent track “Walkman”, a captivating hymn out on Exploited. 

Other tracks of Budakid have been released on labels like Einmusika, Last Night On Earth, All Day I Dream, Get Physical and many more. Highly anticipated also are his upcoming releases on Disco Halal and Watergate Records. 

Already regarded as a more than reliable producer/dj by his peers, nothing stands in the way of Budakid to become one of the greats. Thanks for this sensational summer sip, Kevin, we truly love it!
