Originally from France, but grew up in America, Taiwan and Hong Kong.
Romain Fx's rootless background gives him a big advantage when it comes to ear openness. Romain has been a key innovator in the Hong Kong & Asian music scene for the past 12 years. He has spearheaded multiple fresh concepts. 
His extensive travelling for tours in places like Asia, Europe and his contact with the music industry players on all fronts, has helped him shape his music to fit most dance-floors, from Disco, to House, to Italo, to Funk, to Soul, to Afrobeat, to Dark Disco and so on... 

Thanks to years of crate digging and a solid 10 years of DJing this fellah knows his classics as well as some of the most obscure digs. All his sets are different, you will definitely be in for a treat.

This weeks episode brings a return to our ‘Bside Incoming’ series, the worldwide mixtape series that brings you the best of the Bside from the record collections of our favourite selectors. We’re very excited about this one, our guests name literally translates from the Arabic for ‘The Home of Disco’, and its truly an impressive hour of feel good music from the Arab world and beyond: Dar Disku.

World selectors Vish and Mazen grew up in close proximity on the island of Bahrain. Currently based in Bristol the pair have brought the sunshine of their eastern influences with them to radio airwaves and dance floors across the UK. Their ever increasing prestige as purveyors of global sounds has allowed them to share turntables with Habibi Funk, Esa, Awesome Tapes from Africa, Worldwide Fm, and one of our past guests Nabihah Iqbal as part of her outstanding BBC Radio residency. Their Label is also gaining status, with their most recent release has been played out by the likes of Palms Trax, Hunee, and DJ Seinfeld. The 'Islander Cast' series seemed the most natural way for us to extend our passion for discovering and sharing amazing music from talented DJs, musicians and producers who share our love of era-spanning, genre-hopping boogie music.

Souldade navigates across eras & genres to unearth overlooked tunes. His mixes and edits take you to forgotten dream places, from sunbathed exotic poolsides to moist outmoded clubs. Travelling back and forth between Europe, Africa, Brazil, American cities and other Caribbean islands, the motto remains unchanged: move you and make you move.

Following an intense, careless summer, this mix was for Souldade the perfect medium to enter the gloomier season that was ahead of every single one of us. Slowly switching from warm, bitter-sweet lovers rock songs to colder italo sounds, Souldade builds this typical outdated atmosphere he loves so much, and paves the way to more club-oriented tracks including an unreleased edit in the finale!
