Kostas Raptis was born on the 6th of April 1994 in Volos, Greece. He has been in the music industry for over a decade as a saxophone performer and lately as a DJ and music producer.

Since 2013, he has been actively organizing and performing in Psytrance parties in Greece, hosting most of the local events happening in his city.
Kostas studied Music in the University of Hull where he studied the saxophone and music production, then he decided to expand his knowledge by studying a Master’s course in Leeds College of Music focused on music performance and production. In 2016, the project Luminous was born, a Psytrance project with a slight old school touch.

The project is focused on bringing high energy levels to the dancefloor, as well as a sense of elevation and light due to the melodic context of his music. His unique production aims for quality and driving psychedelic music with a balance between day and night, maintaining the psychedelic element through the whole journey.

Kostas joined Veleno Music Records in 2018 and made 3 releases since 2019 that hit the top Psytrance charts and since 2022 he is a member of BMSS Records.

BMSS Records series kicks off with label manager BOOM SHANKAR. The talk will be followed with his freshet mix. Don’t miss it!

German based Boom Shankar is a Dj for Psychedelic Trance, the label manager of BMSS Records and an event promoter within Europe. Having been initiated into the Goa Trance scene in the early Nineties and by traveling the globe ever since, his sets are a mirror of the constant melting pot of fundamental Psytrance characteristics.
Whether he is guiding the dance floor through the night or into the morning, the outcome is always a voyage filled with a depth and an energy that allows the crowd to feel a sense of freedom through Trance. Groovy, deep, mature, hypnotic and clearly distinguishable.
Having played at many underground & major events worldwide, he has developed a full understanding of the flow and the energies of each dance floor and is flexible in terms of “styles”. Through his impromptu sets, he is able to interact personally with each dance floor, taking the audience on a trans-formative journey. His sets are a direct form of communication through music.

For Boom Shankar, this process of mutual giving and receiving between the DJ and the audience has led to meaningful feedback from festivals like S.U.N. and O.Z.O.R.A., Antaris, Fusion, VuuV, Glade, Summer never Ends, Hadra, Doof, Moksha, Transahara, Transylvania Calling, Timegate, Ometeotl, Universal Religion, Freqs of Nature, Trimurti, Neon and in clubs from New York to Bangkok, London, Tel Aviv and nearly every other corner of the world. Besides this, Boom Shankar is the label manager of BMSS Records where he has released 6 best-selling compilations so far: Transmissions, Transition, Cosmic Connections, the Trancendance triptych series and the Trancefsuion series featuring artists such as Aes Dana, Braincell, Tristan, Sonic Species & Avalon, Eat Static, Pogo, Lucas & Mechanimal, Egorythmia, Ovnimoon, Touch Tone, Audioform, Headroom & Zen Mechanics, Entheoegenic, Talpa, Martian Arts, Outsiders, ManMadeMan, Pleiadians, Zyce, Atmos, Cosmosis, Electrypnose, Imaginarium, Reversed Logic, Hujaboy, ShivaTree and many more. In case you missed the Moon Mountain Farewell Livestream Event, here is my Boom Shankar set in full length.

It's actually a BMSS Records showcase featuring some of the upcoming and still unreleased highlights which will come out in the next months, so you can get a good taste of the direction we are taking with the label and as well the style I prefer to play right now. The set pays respect to the full power vibe of the Asian underground, so expect a high octane psychedelic roller coaster ride.

Some background info: for 17 years Moon Mountain Party has been one of Asia's best kept secrets in terms of underground events. The gathering took place on a floating village made out of 2-story rafts all toed together on Kanchanaburi lake in central Thailand and featured the creme de la creme of Asia based artists and our fellow trance-travel community. I will be forever thankful to all those amazing people who took part in our event and who turned it into one of my annual touring highlights!

Massive thanx and respect to Nun, Papa, Jacky, Eddy, Radzy, Sabai Sabai, Ton, Tom, Tommy, John Lee, Ssongg, Koi, to my BMSS family, EPIC Tribe, Spirit Zone, Blue Moon Productions, Purple Hexagon, Goa Productions and all the other artists and freaks who took part in this special gathering.
