Not my technically most gallant set, with an outright botched swap from Oddrapod to The Greys near the beginning of the set, and a few other technical issues here and there. I was a bit out-of-focus during the early set, I guess. All the same, playing live comes with a certain degree of grit and uneven edges, and the rest of the set seemed to flow well enough. All in all, thanks to all the bright-eyed gnomes and elves who came out to party with us!

DJ Basilisk returns to the ecstatic idealism of the early 1990s on TRANSMISSIONS FROM LYONESSE, the latest in an ongoing series of concept mixes documenting electronic music subcultures of the past. This time around the journey leads from scintillating ambient techno arpeggios and idyllic IDM to the raging heights of full-on Goa trance (and back again). Ultimately the aim is to capture some of the magic of the outdoor festival experience circa 1996, particularly in the UK and continental Europe. Many of these tracks are rough around the edges, and several have been lightly edited and remastered exclusively for this mix.

Mirko Antico https://soundcloud.com/mirkoantico unveils his latest hypnotic DJ set “Distortion Depth” on the 420µHz Podcast Bardo 16 - A journey Into the dark and minimalistic sides of techno. Featuring his signature techno sound, this episode is a must-listen for techno fans seeking a journey into a distortion-filled abyss.

As distortion is such an integral part of techno, we are treated to its various forms in this gem of a set. Starting off by setting a tone of dark, trippy, and deep grooves, I am hypnotized by the tracks and skilful mixes. Slowly but surely the energy and tempo pick up, eventually transitioning into a 303 acid madness towards the end. 
Listening to his tracks it is clear that his sound is characterized by its minimalistic concept, as well as its use of darker, hypnotic sounds with atmospheric injections. A combination that melts well with dynamic and rhythmic percussions, fundamentally supported by a deep and distorted kick and bass. Something that equates to techno in our ears.

This is not only me writing praise for our guest. A great testament to his skills is that his tracks have been supported and played by DJs like Marco Carola, Joseph Capriati, Richie Hawtin, Rafa Siles, Fabio Florido, Bilboni, Luigi Madonna, Paco Osuna, Maceo Plex, Alex Costa, and many more.

So here we are, deep in 2023, we find ourselves at last here at the playing out of Bardo #16 of our 420µHz podcast - Distortion Depth

In this episode of the Bloc Podcast series we welcome CVRDWELL. The Budapest-born artist acquired his DJ craftsmanship at 13, more than two decades ago. Since then, he has become a familiar face in the Budapest electronic music scene. He has performed and organized
various events from house to techno in recent years.
From a very early age, he has also been into music production. He is a
trained sound designer and music producer. He has released labels like
Secession, Warok, Diffuse Reality, and Postdynamic.
His sound is fast-paced, groovy, analog-fuelled techno, spiced up with
a sense of melancholy and a hint of otherworldly, cutting-edge sound
design. He is forward-thinking, yet respects the roots of the genre.
In the last three years, he has started to perform hardware-only,
improvised modular live acts, that gained recognition from the Hungarian techno scene.
Besides his carrier, he has been steering the Budapest-based techno
event series ’Vault Budapest’, and a corresponding record label 'Nonverbal Language'.

Tulpa Dusha Joins Darkelementsofc Guestmix Series #025

Tulpa | Dusha are two audio projects, created by Anna Martinova, original from Baltic shores.
Tulpa audio stories are night dance oriented psychedelic techno improvisations. Dusha is the music, composed and sung by the girl. Both projects are played live with modular synthesis system and additional instruments.

Martinova met modular synthesis when she started to perform Tulpa | Dusha live, and completely switched to recording and performing Live with her personal system in 2017. In a year after meeting Modular, Martinova established Modular Moon | Modular Synthesis School initiative, that functions as synthesis school and a platform for Sonic exploration in Amsterdam, The Netherlands; has sections in Mexico, Santiago, Bangalore, Moscow; satellites in Goa, Tokyo, Liverpool.
