This episode features an exclusive Boshke Beats mix by Jhothi aka Joti Sidhu, also known as Psychaos. He has worked alongside such luminaries as Dave Allen (producer of The Cure), Andy Wright (Massive Attack, Eurythmics), Mark “Spike” Stent. The ebb and flow of his electronic career ultimately landed him a spot with Kenny Dope’s Dopewax under his Jhothi guise and also sees him as a new signing on Todd Terry’s Terminator Records. His productions have graced labels such as XL Recordings, A Concept in Dance, Dragonfly, Perfecto, Atomic, Neurobiotic and others and recently he joined Boshke Beats Records where he plans to release his upcoming tunes pretty soon! About this mix he titled "Psyche Chaos at the Market", he says: "Something that you can listen, all those exciting techno and other genres crossovers, its all just good music and good vibes for me".

JHOTHI | Boshke Beats Series Ep. 42 | 04/02/2022

Here's my recording from the last Habitat where I kicked things off on the Sunday morning. This set started at 9am, but I played some downtempo an hour before during a yoga flow leading into this (set to be posted soon). This set is a progression from downtempo, through psychedelic techno and closing off with some dark prog/zenonesque (103-136bpm) - a journey of waking the festival up and getting everyone in the groove for the prog/psy-trance that was to follow for the rest of the day! This is the second time doing such a wide bpm range set and damn it was fun - a little rocky at times as I was extremely sick leading up to the set so didn't plan it much, but once again I'm super happy with how it turned out. A set all about that Sumiruna/Axon, Ambler, Smilk, Adama - deep bush proggy sound and features a bunch of new tracks, but I also dug out some old favourites that deserve to still get played! Joti also having his own techno productions under the guise of JHOTHi, and DJ JHOTHi.

First hooked on acid house in the late 80’s at the tender age of 17 spawning his Psychaos moniker, this producer found himself playing at extraordinary spots like castles in France and Yugoslavia, high atop Mount Fuji and the Swiss Alps, to the low and dusty ancient ruins in Greece and the Burning Man festival in the Nevada desert to AfrikaBurn in South Africa and the deserts of Australia.

DM-Theory is the result of almost 20 years of music production experience by Marcello Baccheschi. After establishing himself as a full-on psytrance (M-THEORY) and progressive trance (CIMI) artist, Marcello decided it was time to experiment with a slower bpm and techno beats under a new alias. DM- Theory is an exploration of innovative sounds, solid percussive rhythms and a hypnotic vibe culminating in a unique techno style with psy influences. In its short lifespan since the project started in 2018, DM- Theory collaborated with and remixed tracks by influential artists such as Saafi Brothers (Gabriel Le Mar), Tripswitch, MVMB, Gaudi and Youth. He is part of the Ibogatech rooster of artists with 4 EPs released for the label and working on an album already lined up for publication.
