Trance

This Sangoma episode features DAKSINAMURTI's Live Set 2022. Daksinamurti is a psychedelic trance artist, ethnologist, label manager and producer from Marburg, Germany. Together with his friend Emiel he founded and runs the label Sangoma Records. Till has been performing at events and festivals worldwide since the year 2000. Upon discovering Goatrance on the beaches of India in the early 90’s, Daksinamurti developed a diverse and insatiable thirst for studying the effects of psychedelic music on the body and mind. Combined with his passion of anthropology, his journey in music has been distinguished by his desire to discover and the depths of psychoacoustic application in music. About this set, Daksi says: "This mix was meant to be a showcase for my album but ended up as a mix of my contemporary music, music from my just released album and some sneak peaks of what is coming in the near future. It contains some solo work and collaborations with Cosinus, Peyotes, Eritas, N3xu5, Killawatt, Yabba Dabba, Superluminal (Kabayun & Yasmin), Lemurians, Oksha, Yebah & Via Axis.

Before playing @ Psyktoberfest 2015 organized by TrancePort, Y-Production, Goa.hu and PsyBaba Records, Marko Radovanovics a.k.a. E-CLIP will be joining at radiOzora headquarters for a talk and some appetizers live from the studio.

Marko Radovanovic, from Belgrade, Serbia, took the essence of the Solar Eclipse and transformed it into a musical phenomenon that mixes the sun and night aka his alter ego - E-Clip. Along the way, he polished his precision and beat skills while he was playing as a drummer in Hardcore and New Age bands. And as a new star in the celestial sphere of Progressive Trance he absorbed a lot of inspiration from artists such as Jean Michel Jarre, Pink Floyd, Klaus Shultze and Astral Projection. The big change for Radovanovic was similar to the process of Solar Eclipse; where the moon decides he wants to follow the sun's fire and hot atmosphere. Radovanovic fell in love with the heat and energy of the other side of the decks of the Psychedelic Trance parties, and made his move. Thus, soon after he entered the psychedelic world in 2002, he started to produce music as well.

His first experiment was under a different more Full-Onish alter ego, named Beyondecliptica, and with it he released his debut album in 2008, 'Groove technologies', in the Greek label Medusa. Then Radovanovic realized it was time to undermine nature's course and bring E-Clip to the world in 2009. Since that moment of creating his unique manifestation, he released music in various labels including: Blue Tunes, Spin Twist, Oxygen, Prog On Syndicate, Yellow Sunshine Explosion. Of course Iono Music spotted his magical influences and joined him to the family. His recent EP – 'Press Hold' at Iono that came out in November 2011 is just a taste of the many trips he will make on the orbit of the sun while inviting the moon to join occasionally.

The Scorb sound is often techy with tight arrangements, cinematic presentation and a phat low end guaranteed to get your blood racing and the hairs on the back of your neck pointing skyward. With well over a hundred releases to his name on a slew of international labels, the past decade has kept Ady busy playing headline slots at many of the world’s finest events and festivals.
In addition to Scorb and Phibian, Ady's side projects include, Squid Inc (with Santos De Castro - Deviant Species), Orzels Machine (with Trick co-conspirator Mike Rucinski), Prism (with Concept - 3D Vision) and RAM (with Paul Wright - NRS : Last Possible Solution).
Ady is co-owner of UK psychedelic label Trick Music and runs the UK based audio mastering company TRK Mastering, which now provides mastering to many of the world’s finest psytrance labels.
Scorb is set to unleash the much anticipated third album “Aeon Conundra” in late 2016 on Trick Music, and in the meantime, fans can look forward to the release of Squid Inc’s debut album “Indelible” on Trick in early 2016 and single releases on Replicant/MMD & Timecode.

Lukas H. was born 1985 in Buenos Aires. He made a lot of experiences with music in his young days.
When he was 13 years old he started playing Percussion (Tambourine, Drums)
In the year 2000, He had his first contact with electronic Music. He started mixing DnB & Psytrance.
In 2002, He started his education for "Audio Engineer" at the SAE School in Zürich.
In the year 2006, he released his first Debut Album with a friend in coorperation with the Music & Fashion Label "Shaman Electro Records" from Bali/Indonesia. It was called: "Vibracoustic-Dark Skies"
In 2008, Lukas arranged his solo Project "Yaminahua". High Quality is an important point for Lukas` Music. This is why his music is very elaborated, multifaceted and directly. It`s a journey througt the body and soul.

Full Face is the solo project of Doros Grigoropoulos from Corfu, Greece. Doros who comes from a strong social activist background, started as a bass player for a hardcore punk group from 1994 to 2002 before becoming involved with psychedelic trance in the late nineties first as a fan and since 2003 as a DJ and producer. Since then he has released 2 solo albums ("The Flower of the Partysan") & ("In Every Place") on Pixan Recordings, and many tracks on labels such as Vantara Vichitra Records, Indali Records, Peak Records and has performed in various parties and festivals worldwide.

The man behind Para Halu is Adam Hohmann, a multi-talented Hungarian producer who since his very young age has been always enchanted by music. After discovering computer based music production and trying himself in very different areas from beatless ambient to dirty ass-kicking drum’n’bass, he began writing psychedelic tunes as Para Halu in 2002. The past 14 years have seen Para Halu as part of many great international events from huge festivals such as Universo Paralello, Ozora, or Fullmoon to indoor clubs and underground gatherings from Japan to Brazil all over the world. Para Halu has produced six full-length studio albums so far as well as countless tracks on various compilations. He is releasing his latest collaborations with Fungus Funk, Hyper Frequencies, Electrypnose, Neuromotor and others on his own label Psylife Records where he released his latest albums “The Future Sound of Para Halu” in 2009 and “Acid Waltz” in 2013 as well.

With the following edition of Nano Records series, we’re celebrating that Gustavo Manfroni a.k.a. BURN IN NOISE recently officially joined the Nano family.

Gustavo Manfroni was brought up dedicating his time and interest completely to music. He’s been playing the guitar since his early days. He played in 2 rock bands, up to the day when, during a trip to London, got in touch with the psychedelic trance music.
The interest in electronic music grew fast and, in the end of 1999, started buying softwares for producing music.

With an individual style focusing on strong warm basslines and textured, psychedelic leads, it breaks away from the standard full-on, representing a new, fresh direction in dancefloor music.

He has gained recognition as one of the top live acts over the past few years. With performances over 30 countries at festivals across the globe, (e.g.) Boom Festival (Portugal), Ozora Festival (Hungary), Universo Paralello (Brazil), Ultramusic Festival (Russia), Fusion Festival (Germany), Vuuv Festival (Germany), Eclipse Summer Festival (Canada), Sonica Festival (Italy), FullMoon Festival (Germany), Aurora Festival (Greece), Paradise Festival (Austria), Summer Never Ends Festival (Switzerland), Waldfrieden Wonderland Festival (Germany), Glade Festival (UK), Maitreya Festival (Australia), Eclipse 2012 Festival (Australia), Antaris Festival (Germany), etc…), and more than 100 releases on labels worldwide, Gustavo has honed his style into dancefloor perfection.

Gahabbi and Vektor Equilibrium is a duo that made their Ozorian debut in 2015 but they are already known for blasting a full house Pumpui dancefloor, not once but twice last year, with their bouncy trippy take on what proper nighttime psy music is about – no breakdowns needed! So it’s no wonder they’re returning and this radiOzora set is just a taste of what’s coming your way this summer.

Vektor Equilibrium
Viktor Szabó a.k.a. Vektor Equilibrium showed infinite passion for music at the early age of 3 when his family’s hi-fi system went out of order and he came up with the idea to cure it by opening the cassette deck’s door, putting in pills, pouring a big glass of water inside to get the machine functioning again.
Wonders happen, but not that time.
The love of music comes from his father who was a self-taught drummer in a local rock band in the southern part of Hungary.
Being around and during rehearsal/gigs all the time an unexplainable and unstoppable smile crept on his face whenever he heard loud music.
At the age of 15 it was time to get involved in playing the drums and studying music seriously. The next couple of years were spent as part of several bands in various genres (from metal, ska, rock&roll to funk, reggae) playing on stages all over Hungary and Europe.
As a drummer he always enjoyed playing along drum&bass records and that’s how he slowly started to fall in love with the electronic side of the spectrum.
In spring 2012 the next evolutionary step occurred when he got in touch with psychedelic trance music after his beloved brother ’kroko’ showed him the door to a whole new undiscovered side of vibrations. Next year he visited Ozora Festival , which changed everything.
After the festival kroko got a pair of CDJ-100 and they used to hang out together mixing trance for the sake of pure joy. By this time he had also made new contacts, met new friends and ended up surrounded by Dj-s and a circle of friends connected by the same passion for music.
The first DJ performance happened to be at a 2014 NYE private party in collaboration with Gahabbi and the experience of DJ-ing was a life changing event for him, feeling true euphoria, something he had never experienced on stage before.
In 2015, led by this kind of energy, they performed at Samsara Festival(Hu) and then a real dream came true (while the previously experienced gigantic euphoria multiplied by millions in front of a full dancefloor) when they played at Ozora Festival’s Pumpui Stage.


Gahabbi
Gábor Szundi aka Gahabbi came in contact with electronic music at the age of 14 and spent the next few years trying to find his place, checking out what the Budapest party scene had to offer. After 4 years of listening to drum ’n’ bass, he bought his first accessories for DJ-ing and started experimenting with playing music. He didn’t find it too interesting though until he got enchanted by progressive house and techno thanks to his older brother and his friends. After collecting music for 2-3 years he played his first progressive-house set at a private party in 2014 under the name of Sundi Jr., after his brother Sundi. That summer he visited O.Z.O.R.A for first time. It was enough to make him fall in love with the progressive and psytrance genres and it’s also when and where he met a new friend, Viktor aka Vektor Equilibrium. At the end of the year they played their first set together at a private New Year’s Eve party. In 2015 they continued playing together at private and public events too, like the famous Chakacsütörtök in Budapest or at Tilos Rádió, Samsara Festival. In May 2015 they started the Independance radio show on Radiozora with the famous Fine Beats team featuring styles of progressive house and techno. In the summer of the same year, his big dream came true, playing twice at O.Z.O.R.A Festival with Vektor Equlibrium.

GAHABBI & VEKTOR EQUILIBRIUM | Live at the studio | 24/03/2016

sG4rY is an anthropologist, movie maker, freelance-writer, general adventurist and Psytrance-DJ from Bavaria, currently residing in its beautiful capital Munich. He represents the labels Sangoma Records as well as Purple Hexagon Records with his side project Brot3rys together with DJ Merry.

His heavy itchy feet syndrom, his taste in a wide range of styles in Psychedelic Trance and the lust for encountering new like minded psychonauts has led him to perform at events such as Antaris Project (Germany) , Hilltop New Years Eve (Goa/India), Momento Demento Festival (Croatia), Kosmos Festival (Finland), Universal Religion (Nepal), Trimurti Festival (Russia), Waldfrieden Wonderland Festival (Germany), Yaga Gathering (Lithuania) and countless other events around Austria, Cambodia, Costa Rica, Croatia, Czech Republic, Finland, France, Greece, India, Italy, Lithuania, Malaysia, Nepal, Russia, Slovakia, South Africa, Switzerland, Singapore, Thailand, Turkey and the Netherlands.
Not being caught in one style or direction, he is constantly trying to discover and fuse different varieties of psychedelic music with the aim of overcoming musical boundaries that had been created in people’s minds due to the musical fragmentation happening nowadays in the Psychedelic Trance Movement. Creating a journey sui generis for his listeners is his biggest aspiration. Psychedelic Trance has to be approached from different angles, using the many colorful vibrations it offers. Therefore, sG4rY likes to play sets as long as possible in order to draw from the different musical influences he gets from befriended artists, musicians and freaks around the globe. Nightly journeys that dissolve towards the first glimpses of the new day as well as sending the crowd into the night with a powerful kick off, or even sunny variations with non-cheesy hypnotic daytime trance are all part of his repertoire. He loves that special energy during sunrise and sunset on the dancefloor and tries to use it for involving the crowd into a flow of certain feelings and sensations, sometimes humorous, sometimes gloomy or filled with deep emotions. His numerous various artist releases over the years on different labels mirror this passion for musical variety and expression.

sG4rY furthermore decided together with his Brother-from-anotha-Motha DJ Merry:) to launch a DJ-project called Brotherys. Since 2010, they play their mixture of of powerful, deep and groovy Night Stuff and lysergical Forest Sounds for dancefloors around the globe and have compiled both Brotherys Balderdash Compilation, released on Purple Hexagon Records.

Next to his involvement in the two labels Sangoma Records and Purple Hexagon Records, sG4rY is also an active part of the Gaggalacka Festival, which will celebrate its 15th anniversary in the late summer of 2016.

Aphrodite is the Greek goddess of love, beauty, pleasure, and procreation who arose out of sea foam on the coast of Cyprus. Therefore she is also known under the name Cypris, her Roman equivalent is the goddess Venus and she is also identified with the Ancient Egyptian goddess Hathor. Myrtle, doves, sparrows, horses, and swans were said to be sacred to her. 
Her father Zeus fears that because of Aphrodite's beauty other gods will become rivals to possess her. Therefore he marries her off to the god of smithing Hephaestus, who is overjoyed to be married to the goddess of beauty. He manifactures her stunning jewelry that make her even more irresistible to others.
As one of the Twelve Olympians of the Greek pantheon and thus a major deity, worship of Aphrodite, (or Aphrodíti), as a living goddess is one of the more prominent devotionals in Hellenismos (Hellenic Polytheistic Reconstructionism)the revival of ancient Greek religious practices in the present day.
This set is a recording from a nice outdoor party by Sound Elements Productions near Nikosia in April 2016 where i played a set into sunrise.

Wahgwaan bredren. We at Sangoma are happy to present you our latest digital compilation, to celebrate 6 years of Sangoma Records. Selecta’s Emiel and Daksi, came up with this idea just a few weeks ago, and have been busy selecting these irie tunes of our signed label-artists, to give you a glimpse of what is cooking in 2018, and to share some insights and visions. For this release we were inspired by the concept of the “Soundsystem”, an important part of Jamaican culture, which changed and revolutionized the concept of music. This release, features a multipage booklet, fresh tunes, rare remixes and collaborations by our artists. Sangomesque Summertime jamrock for the cold winter months - The only good System is a sound-system.

Catch the next episode of Sangoma Records series with the label’s newest signed producer-duo, YABBA DABBA.

Yabba Dabba is the project of Frederick Barwich and Jeremy Quessada, who both grew up on the tropical island of New Caledonia. Together they explored the psychedelic world, and these experiences helped to develop a strong connection. In 2015 the duo decided to start this project and soon, track after track, it became more and more fun so they kept going. Now, based in France, they shape their groovy deep and trippy signature sound.
After releases on label such as Namaste Records, Sonica Recordings and Sangoma. In 2018, they will launch their debut EP Disjointed on Sangoma Records. Keep an eye out for this upcoming act that got us stoked here with their skills and ideas.

Magic represents a category used in the study of religion and the social sciences to define various practices and ideas considered separate to both religion and science. The category developed in Western culture although has since been applied to practices in other societies. Various different definitions of magic have been proposed.
Within Western culture, the term "magic" has been linked to the idea of the Other, and with the idea of "foreignness".

“Magic has often been dismissed as either primitive and irrational and therefore alien to modern society, as inherently opposed to the Judeo-Christian traditions of the West, or as incompatible with religion in general. These antipathetic sentiments are deeply embedded in Western culture, and the term magic has typically been used to describe non-mainstream beliefs and practices — non-Christians, heretics, non-Westerners, indigenous, ancient or 'primitive' cultures — any that might be considered 'Other.' The image of magic as inherently linked with the Other has functioned as an important factor in the construction of the self-identity of Western culture, for by defining magic as something alien, exotic, primitive, evil, deviant or even ridiculous, our society also makes a tacit statement as to its self-perceptions."

Many of the practices, which have been labeled magic, can be performed by anyone. For instance, some charms can be recited by individuals with no specialist knowledge, while others require specialized training in order to perform them. Some of the individuals who performed magical acts on a more than occasional basis came to be identified as magicians, or with related concepts like sorcerers, witches, etc. There is a connection between language and magic is due to a belief in the inherent ability of words to influence the universe. Whether spoken out loud or unspoken, words are frequently used to access or guide magical power. A spell, charm or even mantra is a set of words, spoken or unspoken, which are considered by its user to some magical effect and apply to most cultures around the world. Spells can be used in calling upon a spirit, a deity or other supernatural agent, or to prevent a person from taking some action or in forcing them to remain on some path of action. Another potential source of the power of words is their secrecy and exclusivity. Much sacred language is differentiated enough from common language that it is incomprehensible to the majority of the population and it can only be used and interpreted by specialized practitioners. Hocus Pocus is such a word with a magic but unknown meaning same as other famous one like Sim Sala Bim , Abbracadabra, Alkazam etc. The origin of the phrase “Hocus Pocus” remains obscure. It was first mentioned in an old English text from 1635. During time – it became synonym also for nonsense and things people don’t understand.
This 2,5 hour set was recorded October 2017 at the Psyalaska party in the Slovakian mountains.

Originz aka Raphael Atlan is a 25 years old psytrance activist from Lyon, France. Founder and director of the organization Outrance and in the line-up team of the Hadra festival, he started djing alongside many international artists of the scene. Since 2015, he played on several stages in France and around the world his groovy and punchy psychedelic dj sets (Thailand, China, Malaysia, Israel, Italy) and in renowned festivals like Hadra Festival or Wao Festival… In 2019, he joined Sangoma Records as Label DJ to fulfill his dream. His style blends morning and night psychedelic, powerful and catchy dj sets that awaken dancefloors. He takes his influences in labels like Sangoma or Looney Moon. He joined Sangoma Records as Label DJ in 2019 to fulfill his dream!

Yebah is the most recent music project of Miguel Ferro, a psychedelic trance producer from Portugal. Engineer as profession and lover of electronic music from an early age, his connection with music production began in 2003 in the need of compose drum beats for its lyrics. He met psytrance through friends at a New Year’s Eve party in 2005 where he awoke to the most deep music connection.
After couple of years exploring and loving the psytrance concept he started to produce this musical genre. Since 2009 Miguel has been producing music under the name Amras as a darkpsy / hitech artist and in 2018 he decided to create this project and finally create the sound that always inspired him. Influenced by the sounds of nature he has been working on this project with love and devotion to provide a musical journey characterized by organic sounds, deep atmospheres and psychedelic elements. The Yebah name was chosen for being an expression of pure joy and that is what he wants to achieve on you with his music.

Here is the new Audiopills Mix by FUNGUS FUNK!

Fungus Funk is Sergei Prilepa, an established psychedelic trance musician from Moscow, Russia. Sergei started producing psytrance in 1998, and he has been releasing music since 2001. Over the past 15 years, Fungus Funk has put out his compilation tracks on numerous other labels. To his credit are four well-received full length albums: ‘F-People’ (2006) on Acidance, ‘Vostok 1’ (2008) together with Samadhi on Blitz Studios, ‘Electric Grooves’ (2010) also on Blitz Studios, and ‘Kremlin Gremlin’ (2012) on his own label Unlimited Music. Additionally, Sergei also released four acclaimed EPs. Fungus Funk’s sound is not easy to define as it incorporates features from different sub-genres of psytrance and generally tends to change from album to album. Regardless of which version of Fungus Funk you get to experience, it is guaranteed to be full of fat well defined basslines, powerful psychedelic leads, and top-notch sequencing. Courtesy of his productive musical output and subsequent popularity in the international psytrance scene, Fungus Funk regularly travels the globe and plays his live and DJ sets at various dance music events. Among some of the bigger festivals he has appeared at are the well-known Boom Festival (Portugal), O.Z.O.R.A. Festival, Sonica (Italy), Antaris (Germany), Transcendence (Brazil), and Hadra (France) among others.
