Before performing one of his rare gigs at this Avatar Events' party, Daniel Segerstad a.k.a. SYNC24 of the one and only Ultimae Records' Carbon Based Lifeforms is joining us live from the studio to get us in the right mood for celebrating.

Started in early years experimeting with tape recorders and simple music players on the Commodore 64 and gradually upgrading equipment and techniques. Having CBL as his main focus and some other projects on the side there’s always room for personal reflections.

SYNC24 is the result of sudden impulse of inspiration, late nights without interference from others.

Interview with SYNC24 | Before Party | 06/11/2015

Itay KUKAN DUB LAGAN is bringing some sunshine for smiling people into the first edition of a new radiOzora show, the Sofa Beats series with a special mix following the talk.

KUKAN-DUB-LAGAN is the project of Itay Berger. Itay is 40 years old, located in Barcelona, Spain. He has been listening and playing electronic music since he was 16 years old. He spent over 3 years working as a sound engineer in one of the top sound and light companies in Israel.
His decision to make music was strongly influenced by his trip to Ibiza in 1997-8. At that time he also started to preform in Israel and abroad at mostly underground parties. Itay's general musical influences are wide-ranging. His journey into chill-out djing started in 2002 in Israel. During that time he was also signed by a UK techno-house label (www.klubdj.co.uk) under the name DJ Itay for a year and flew to Japan to play at parties in Osaka and Kyoto. Returning back to Israel, he enrolled to sound engineering college for one year and totally committed himself to music composition. Drawing from his djing experience, his early family musical influences as well as his own musical background he created his chill-out project: KUKAN-DUB-LAGAN.

The Sofa Beats series continues with GLOBULAR.

Globular's music tends to be a bubbling mass of virtual sounds fluctuating in and out of existence, with the sole purpose of stimulating the ears, tickling the brain and moving the body. Deep dubbed-out bass lines provide the bedrock for the harmonic intricacies and grooving melodies that typify Globular's sound. Inspired by the universe and all it encompasses, and drawing influence from the psychedelic classics, Globular strives to take listeners on a journey of their own choosing, encouraging all who enter to create their own stories and to dance their own dance. Globular's sounds have been guided by thousands of years of musical artistry and attempt to build on, defer to, and entirely remix all that has come before, offering up a new tapestry woven from history and tales of the future alike.

Whether spatial – Spacey Koala – or soft – Sleepy Koala – his melodies are always remarkable. He sculpts the sounds, handles the guitar, and arranges these brilliantly tuned elements to compose his musical works. Koala strives to convey to listeners his gratitude for the universe, as he delivers his opus from the richness of the natural symphony that encircles our world. Coming from Manouche jazz learned in his hometown of Gaspé, a pupil to the teaching of Louis Vallée, he chose soundscaping as a life project and pursued university studies in this sense. The Australian label Kinematic Records, founded by Terrafractyl aka Hypnagog aka Felix Fractal, house his rhythmic architecture. Spatial or soft, the Koala travels on the web and around our blue planet to destinations of Australia, Mexico, United States, Panama, Canada, Quebec, and probably your ears.

Pablo is a music producer from México. Inspired by a lot music, he has been working for years in the fusion and development of Low End, a project in which with a diversity of experimentations of textures and sounds, he tries to amalgamate all his cultural and musical influences.
He had shared his music on festivals like Mo:Dem, Kupuri, Vibronica, S.U.N., Ritual, WAO, Promised Land, Aeon Gathering and Ometeotl.

Svess, aka Sophia went to her first ever psy-trance party in 2003 and that was when this music love story began. Never ever had she heard or felt music in this powerful way before. After many years of blissful experiences on dance floors all over the world her desire to learn how to mix had grown very strong. In early 2014 she started her DJ journey and very quickly became a frequently booked DJ in London and later on the rest of the UK and internationally. In October 2015 she was signed to the Brazilian label Mosaico Records.
Her style can best be described as groovy, deep and highly energetic, ranging from daytime psychedelic to deeper darker night time moods.

Cosmic Touch is a Psybass/Glitch project created from a deep love of music and good vibes. At first Nico Kumpulainen (Cosmic Touch) experimented with many genres of music, but after finding his way into the psychedelic underground forest parties, he had found the music that spoke to his soul. Combining elements from a wide variety of genres and time periods Cosmic Touch hopes to create a bass filled psychedelic moment for dancers and listeners to explore.

COSMIC TOUCH | In Focus | 26/08/2017

Back in 2002, in my book about the history of ecological thought, Rising Tides, I alluded to the role that psychedelics might play in eroding the sense of separation between Man and Nature, provoking what biologist EO Wilson called biophilia – “the innate sense of belonging to the natural world.” As US comedian Shane Mauss says in his documentary, Psychonautics, he “never ‘got’ trees and sunsets” before he took psychedelics.
One of the many extraordinary things that psychedelics do, is repress the Default Mode Network (DMN) – a modern scientific term for the ego-self structure, upon which our sense of separation is constellated – and allow the background awareness, or pure consciousness that Buddhists call the Ground of All Being, to come to the fore. The foreground ego goes into the background and the background environment comes into the foreground. Human identification with a limited, personal sense of consciousness, is replaced with a unitive, inclusive experience of an impersonal Consciousness, which connects us with all and everything.
It is no surprise that the ecological movement, plus other egalitarian notions around civil rights and feminism, were provoked by the 1960s counter- culture’s use of these substances. One of the enduring features of the psychedelic experience, as with the classic mystical experience, is precisely that: a re-cognition of oneness, interdependence and interconnection with the rest of nature and indeed the universe itself. It reinforces the notion of the primacy of consciousness – that we are within consciousness itself, it is not something within us, a pure epiphenomenon of the brain that reductionist, materialist science would have us believe. Never have those values been more critical in human history than now, since this inevitably leads to a more co-operative, compassionate and collective understanding of our relationship to nature and our place in the universe.
Rory Spowers is writer, campaigner and event curator, specialising in systems change and consciousness issues.
His books include A Year in Green Tea and Tuk Tuks (HarperElement), covering the creation of Samakanda, an ecological learning centre in south Sri Lanka, and Rising Tides, a history of ecological thought (Canongate), critically acclaimed by the UK Sunday Times, The Observer and a variety of magazines. Most recently, Rory was a Writer on Bruce Parry’s 2017 feature documentary Tawai, and is now Creative Director of the Tyringham Initiative, a world-class think-tank and incubator for new paradigm projects and consciousness studies.

OhmikRon started his DJ-career in the early 2000’s at Tilos Radio, Budapest. Later, he began to compose his own dubtechno music, yet as the years passed he expanded his music explorations to ambient and dub music. In the past years, he became the member of Dubapest HiFi crew and the music group Trojka formed by Alagi, Papa and OhmikRon.

DJ Papa is also a member of the Tilos Radio community and a member of Cökxpôn Ambient Society. He started his DJ career around 2008, and since that time, he presents the Cökxpôn Ambient show on Tilos Radio every Wednesday.

Alagi is a Budapest-based DJ and radio editor. As a DJ, he belongs both to Tilos Radio and Cökxpôn Ambient Society. His most played genres are trip-hop, reggae, dub, chillout, ambient and psychill.

These three DJs form the Chillegal Crew, and this nearly two hours long mix is a part of a 8-hours-long ambient, chill out, trip hop, reggae and dub selection recorded this mid-summer at Gátörház.

Gumi is a downtempo elastic journey created by the prolific Tel Aviv producer Maor Hasbani.
In the late 90s Maor was engulfed by electronic music and started avidly collecting CDs and vinyl. Genres such as Ambient, IDM, Breakbeat, Acid, Space Rock, Jazz Fusion and so on, inspired him deeply and set him on a life mission of self- expression through music and sound. By elegantly fusing bold basslines, tribal rhythms, psychedelic atmospheres and ethnic melodies - Gumi’s modern production and analog sound has set a blaze some of the best dancefloors on the face of the planet. Also responsible for the internationally renowned psytrance project ‘Skizologic’, Maor has already rocked Boom Festival, Psy-Fi Festival, Rainbow Serpent Festival, Chill Out Planet Festival, Tribal Gathering Festival, Doof Festival, Samsara Festival and Dakini Festival to name a few, as well as extensively touring Japan and the USA. After releasing two critically acclaimed EPs, Gumi is set to unleash a full debut album in 2021 presenting his new spectrum of sounds and sophisticated storytelling.
