He progressed onto creating epic tracks with Fedro under the LOS CUSTARDOS guise, unfortumnately Fedro died in 2015 but some of their music will released very soon by Blue Hour Sounds Records. Look out for their debut E.P. coming soon. He also produces music with Noctem as Confusionism, all of which adds a unique sound to his high energy DJ sets. As he says: “Music production is a slow process, be patient and great things will emerge very soon!” He also says, “Life’s too short for rubbish music!” & with this in mind he always tries to ensure that his sets are interesting, groovy, fun & above all else, make you want to dance!

DJing has taken Fordy as far afield as Australia, Japan, Goa, Thailand, New Zealand, Holland, Italy, Brazil, Fiji and Singapore. His awesome Fluff Squad events have also raised money for charity along with injecting some much-needed fun & colour into the London scene & have even made local news headlines. Interview with KAMINANDA | On the Way to O.Z.O.R.A. 2016 | 09/04/2016

In this edition of Iono Music’s series presents Portugal duo Ivan Filipe and Daniel Bernardo a.k.a. ATMOIZERS.

Plants, animals, people, and objects – They are all made out of one of the smallest unit known to civilization, the atom. Combining vibrations, these particles are assembled into different shapes and conditions that mutate according to a particular melody. The soundtrack of each material is then determined by moods, feelings and emotions. Recently a new formula was discovered, a revolutionary substance that has the power to generate electronic-sonic frequencies that can transform the nucleus structure and create something else, something better, something mesmerizing – Atomizers.
The origin of this new configuration is in Portugal, specifically with its inventors Ivan Filipe and Daniel Bernardo. Known for his multiple personalities as Holophonik, Ankh, Existence, Holographic Brain,and Techyon – Filipe decided it was time for the next improved experiment, and it had to be in collaboration with Bernardo. Coming from a rave fuelled family, Filipe was inspired by his father’s club at the center of Portugal and a Psytrance party he went to in 1996 and took this passion to the next level – creating music. He started producing music in 2000 and shortly after in 2001 he started DJing. Inspired by the spiritual cultures he experienced in India, Filipe learned to play the flute and explore the musical sensibilities of the locals. Fascinated by non-Western sounds, Ivan went to absorb inspiration in Thailand, Morocco, Sahara, Egypt, and Cambodia to enhance his artistic endeavour. The tuning of his expertise continued with learning electronic music production in Etic art school, as well as acquiring mixing and mastering skills.

The other scientist, Bernardo, is also notorious for his skilful shenanigans. A natural born musician, Daniel played guitar and drums to express his fury in Metal bands during the early 1990s. From 1995 he was hooked to electronic music. His first Boom festival experience in 1998 made him realise his magnetic force must be translated to Psytrance music. It took him 4 years to release his first album, in 2002, as Menog – Natural Behaviour – And the rest is a vibrating history. After numerous albums, remixes and EPs released in labels such as Nutek, 3Division, Shiva Space Tech, Phantasm , SpaceTribe Music, Digital Psionics , Acidance, Planet Ben, and many more – It was time to spice it up and create a super hybrid material, and so, in 2013 (?) – Atomizers was created.

Combining the knowledge of these two laboratory technicians means the ultimate recipe for a dance you will never forget. Mixing body, mind and soul, Atomizers will distort everything sonic science thought it knew before, and introduce new frontiers to sound, beat and hypnotizing orchestra. Mutations and abnormalities will burst and explode, but the allure and mystic will grow exponentially. You will not be able to resist, as your body will go crazy. (or: as this project will blow your mind)

They have know each other since 2001, but only now in 2013 they decided to start a project together,
First ep was released at Iono Music July 2014.
At the Moment they are working on their Debut Album to be released on Iono.
Expect lots of feelings in this galactic combination, from more progressive sound to a bit of Psy.
They are bound to blast every dance floor on planet earth.

Interview with ATOMIZERS | Iono Music Showcase Vol. 5 | 15/04/2016

SAD PARADISE is the progressive psytech project of James Copeland from Cape Town.

Having spent the last decade as one of the pioneers of the South African psytrance scene with his full on project Broken Toy, the time was right to seek new horizons and new challenges. A new modern psychedelic sound had to be born.
Sad Paradise – a feeling of contradiction in beauty and happiness describes the mixed emotions conjured up by this experience. Searing intense cerebral moments opening out onto lush landscapes of sound both spacious yet deep – groovy yet driving. It’s years of experience culminating in the sound of now with the feel of the oldschool, so it’s no surprise that he`s got respect and remixes from some of the best in the business, such as Perfect Stranger, Ace Ventura, Rocky, Zyce, Capital Monkey and the list goes on.

With his first batch of releases going out on top labels like Iboga, Echoes, Iono and now signed to the mighty Nano Records, it wasn’t long before this young project was off to see the world, having already travelled as far afield as Germany , Australia, Mexico and Brazil all within its first year. A very special Before Party edition of On the Way to O.Z.O.R.A. 2016 welcomes Chill Dome freshman Claudio PRC (TGP, Outis, Prologue) in person at the radiOzora headquarters before he plays at the Elements of techno party hosted by VisionaryMind Lab @ LÄRM club, Budapest.

Claudio PRC, real name Claudio Porceddu, born 1987 in Sardinia, Italy. His experimental approach to techno and his knowledge on history of electronic music are the basis for a constant flow of productions since he first started releasing on the Berlin based netlabel Intoxik in 2007. After several other EPs, he received attention from the German label Prologue Music, which not only became his home base for nearly 5 years but also gave him the space to put out his widely recognised first Album “Inner State” in 2012. With his friend and production partner Ness he started his own label based on and named after their side project “The Gods Planet” in 2010, releasing their own productions and giving a little “Extra” room for releases of befriended artists. With his background in experimental and electro-acoustic music and performance, his DJ set will not only provide something to dance to, but also stimulate you intellectually.

Nanoplex is the new live project from two of the pioneers of the UK progressive techno sound, Ben Coda & DJ Ipcress.
Ben Coda needs little introduction, his tech-prog sound crosses boundaries – tough beats and rolling basslines contrast with soaring melodies, fusing his love of the tougher sounds of techno and tech house with classic progressive house. With a busy international schedule, Coda is taking his sound to the masses.
DJ Ipcress has risen from the underground dance scene in the UK and over the last 5 years has taken his dark edged techno sound across Europe and the world. Fusing techno and house, with a deep minimal groove, a partnership with Ben Coda was always going to produce a slick future techno sound.

Interview with Bahar & Cilu - PSY-BOUTIQUE FESTIVAL 2016 | Festival Frequency | 26/04/2016

The 11th episode of Parvati Records’ series will be presented by Californian Greg Farley a.k.a. MUBALI.

Mubali is the musical project of Greg Farley, originally based in Monterey, California but currently based in the San Francisco Bay Area. He came from a classical music background, due to playing viola for 9 years in school, as well as a funk and soul upbringing. He has been involved in electronic music as a whole since 2000, after being converted to the dj culture by Burning Man and Dj Dice. After a short stint of being a Drum and Bass dj, he was enticed into the land of psychedelic trance by Dj’s Michael Liu and Hidroponik (A.K.A. Arahat ).
Around spring 2001, Mubali was born as a dj. He specialized in the heavier end of psychedelic trance with a slightly techy influence. As a dj he was into the French, Russian and Danish sounds happening between 2001-2003, as well as being an avid supporter of local San Francisco producers like Ocelot, Random, Ghreg on Earth, Chromatone, The Fractal Cowboys, and Penta.

During a heated discussion with Ocelot, Mubali expressed his displeasure of the direction the music was going and thought that nothing coming out really represented what he really felt inside. This led to 5 words that changed his viewpoint forever, “Do it yourself then dammit!” From that point Mubali dedicated himself to learning production and trying to express what was inside of him. That was August 2003.

Since then, Mubali has performed on stages all around the world and at many festivals, including Boom Festival and Full Moon Festival. He has 2 album releases on Trishula Records, a free album released on Ektoplazm Records and countless solo and collaborative works on many labels. His style can be described as sometimes funky and bouncy, sometime chunky and nasty, but always psychedelic.

Currently, Mubali is in the process of continuing his education in the United States and still is on a never-ending quest to keep his sound fresh and relevant. He currently has a few projects, two with other established artists, and one downtempo solo side project. His project with Arahat, named Arabali has existed since 2006, focusing on the groovier trippy side of nighttime psychedelic trance. His project with Onkel Dunkel, named Speakerhuggers has already taken global dancefloors by storm, combining the best aspects of their individual creative minds to create sheer dancefloor mania.

Mubali is also working on an EP for Parvati Records that will showcase the knowledge he has acquired in his path to education as well as his commitment to making music that has goodies for the head, the ass, and the soul.

Joining us for a little talk in this Before Party session is one of the guest artists of goa.hu and Y-Production’s season opening party at Vituki in Budapest on May 14, Martin Knecht aka HUMAN ELEMENT, followed by a special mix made for radiOzora.

Music, melodies and beats are mostly done by technological devices these days. But what makes the sound really penetrate your skin, bones and mind, is the Human Element. This magical potion cannot be explained in words. It is that spirit, vibe or atmosphere that only once you hear it you know, a sonic bliss.
For Martin Knecht, from Zurich, Switzerland, this journey of making sonic spells began in a very early age, as he was experimenting with his human senses to make music. He started using his voice in choirs as a young boy, learning tempo and rhythm, and then developed his other senses while playing the piano and guitar. But it wasn’t only knowing how to produce music that fascinated Martin, he also wanted to know how to connect between tunes and create a flowing harmony. Constantly listening to the radio, Martin would record songs and then craft mix-tapes which gave him an instinct and intuition of a DJ.

Completely devoted to his mission to be immersed with music, at 14, Martin spent all his money he earned on DJ equipment. He was hooked. He practiced for several years, experimenting and pushing the limits of these machines, along with his acquired musical experience, in order to see how he can bring his Human Element. But another inspirational turning point happened which completes the background story – in 1996 as Martin first listened to Sasha and John Digweed’s Northern exposure, it was love at first sound. From that moment on, it was clear to him that these melodic progressive sounds will become an inseparable part of his artistic voyage. Things moved fast from there – a residency at the Labyrinth club in Zurich and getting gigs all over Europe paved his way up.

Martin’s musical path diverges into three main directions: his main project as Human Element, his more downbeat and chill-out grooves under Mikrokosmos, and his other alias, DJ Martin, where he gets to play and juggle with Progressive Psy. Between 2006-2011, Martin was running the label Mikrokosmos together with Nicola Capobianco, aka Liquid Soul, and they also formed the Progressive project Earsugar. In 2010 he released his first EP as Human Element – Breaking the 4th Wall, and since then he kept on shaping and exploring new frontiers in his creation. Rocking countless parties and festivals such as Boom festival (Portugal), Sunshine festival (Japan), Fusion festival (Germany) and Universo Parallelo (Brazil) marked him as a necessary element in every party. One of UK’s top downtempo electronica artists, DJ and producer Nick Brennan aka TRIPSWITCH is joining us for chat, followed by a special mix presenting his newest album.

A mainstay of the British downtempo scene for over 10 years, Tripswitch (Nick Brennan) achieved a worldwide reputation as a meticulous and talented producer with the release of his first album ‘Circuit Breaker’ on Youth’s Liquid Sound Design label in 2005. With a 4* review in DJ magazine, praise from Anoushka Shankar in the New York Times, BBC Radio 1 airplay as well as support from the likes of Nick Warren (Way Out West), Jose Padilla (Cafe del Mar) and Claude Challe (Buddha Bar), who all picked up tracks for their own compilations, the album is widely held up as a classic in the psy-chill genre.
Nick launched his own label Section Records in 2010 with the release of the 2nd Tripswitch long player “Geometry”, followed by a string of critically acclaimed singles and EPs which have attracted support from the likes of Orbital, Chris Lake, Mumdance, Way Out West and Kasey Taylor and glowing reviews in the music glossies. He is currently working on a 3rd Tripswitch LP, as well as albums and singles under his codemonkey (bass music) and Nick Brennan (progressive house) pseudonyms.

Nick has contributed pro tips to Computer Music magazine, works closely with Pioneer Pro DJ and his guest mixes have been featured on radio shows/ stations such as Ninja Tunes Solid Steel, Radio 1 CZ, Camden Roundhouse Radio and RTE Pulse.

Interview with TRIPSWITCH – Vagabond | Album Presentation | 24/05/2016

A 2in1 edition, we’re presenting a newly launched Hungarian label, Selected Sounds and their first release, IAMYANK’s 11-track debut album HIRAETH. So our guests in this track-studded talk are László Papp aka Subotage aka Nitelight, one of the heads of the Selected Sounds team and label, and János Herold aka iamyank of course.

Selected Sounds is a newly established record label from Hungary which will launch its journey with iamyank’s debut album, HIRAETH, an 11-track-long deep sea journey to find peace.
Iamyank is one of Hungary’s most renowned talents, producing dreamy, melodic electronic music. In recent years, he gave concerts in the biggest venues around Budapest, released numerous EPs while also produced an award-winning exploration game, The Adventures of Poco Eco which included a whole album’s worth of original songs.
The main ambition of iamyank’s music has always been to focus on a certain atmosphere and let it flourish into an entire narrative. From this respect, HIRAETH is no different: it all started with one particular emotion, a desire to escape from the world. The album’s title references a welsh word, meaning a homesickness for a home you cannot return to, or that never was.
This home that never was is the deep sea ecosystem in iamyank’s case, where HIRAETH leads the listener. As we proceed from one song to the other, we get further and further away from the known world and delve deep into the unknown. Bubbling melodies, reverberating noises and piano sounds begin to fill up the space until we get to the long and gentle synth chords symbolising the peacefulness of our new home.
From childhood movie experience (The Abyss) to more recent musical discoveries (Shigeto, Nils Frahm, Burial), HIRAETH’s sounds and concept incorporates numerous influences. Compared to earlier iamyank materials, the new record is much more airy and organic and the deep sea subject is not the only reason for that. One of the main goals of iamyank was to invite band members to take part in the writing process to create songs that can be fully reproduced live on stage.

HIRAETH will be out on April 25th followed by an album launch concert on the 4th of May, on A38.

Selected Sounds presents iamyank – HIRAETH | 26/05/2016

SUKHUSH, one of our favorite husband and wife teams, Rachel and Vish aka DJ Vishwaatmaa, bring us some of that “complete contentment” through a few shared words and a special Brooklyn recording of their Unikorp versus SuKhush live set celebrating 10 years of 6362MetaForce.

Husband and wife team, Vish and Rachel, have been working together musically and creatively for 13 years. From their first venture together — as music venue owners of Tres Botas, India’s first tapas bar, mixology venue, and performance space — to being founders of 6362MetaForce, throwing underground psychedelic events in New York, and finally as music performance duo, SuKhush, they pride themselves in being curators of unique sounds.
Their life in psychedelic music began with the jungle parties outside of old Bombay, reached only with handwritten maps and a good kilometer counter, out in the wild. Goa followed, and after a move to NYC in 2005, they created 6362MetaForce to bring some of the old skool stomp power to the new world. At that time, Vish specialized in darkpsy with his DJ project Vishwaatmaaa, and Rachel collaborated with all types of bands and producers. But one day in 2008, they realized that they could bring their taste for musical transcendence together in a new project :: SuKhush. They have been playing festivals, parties, art events, dance performances, and private celebrations ever since.

SuKhush features Rachel’s live improvisation on the flute interwoven with Vish’s hybrid DJ/RMX sets, spanning all types of beats from downtempo (psychill / bass / dub / psystep) to dancefloor (darkprog / chillgressive). More a band than a DJ project, SuKhush is a deep dive collaboration between the organic/acoustic and the electronic. Combining real-time sampling and remix ideas with original flute sounds, incorporated within a bed of carefully selected compositions from the finest producers, SuKhush creates unique live experiences for every audience.

“SuKhush” is a Sanskrit word meaning complete contentment – – a sentiment beyond joy or happiness. SuKhush is all about keeping the energy of every live performance powerful & invigorating – moving the dancefloor with their energy, no matter what the tempo. Over the last 8 years, SuKhush has played music venues, art events, yoga celebrations & dance performances in NYC as well as festivals and events throughout North America, Europe, Israel, and India.

In April, to celebrate their 10 years as 6362MetaForce, Rachel and Vish invited Renato Moreira from Portugal to perform as both of his projects — Lab and Unikorp — in Brooklyn. Together, they created a special Unikorp versus SuKhush live set to launch the night. SuKhush and Unikorp share a similar musicality & appreciation for multi-genre psychedelic sounds. Also, because Rachel, Vish and Renato have been together in the psy scene for nearly a decade, there is an ease and beauty to the collaboration that worked amazingly well in rehearsals and on stage. With Renato contributing his original tracks, Rachel playing live, and Vish creating the FX and managing the interweaving of flute with the electronics, the set was a highlight of the night, featuring darker textures within dnb, psystep and world grooves. After the chill room launch, Renato moved to the main stage with his Lab project, followed by 3 hours of Vish’s darkpsy project, Vishwaatmaaa.

Next up for SuKhush is their first original EP, coming later in 2016.

Hamish started DJ’ing at 19 while at University. His first events became the calling-card for those in search of good atmosphere, decor and amazing music. Since then he moved to London and continued to work on events, responsible for bringing artists such as Ace Ventura, Freq, Klopfgeister, Kasey Taylor, Flowjob and Liquid Soul to the capital. He also attracted the attention of Shane Gobi and Alchemy Records, becoming a label DJ in 2006. With the influence on warm, strong, psychedelic and groovy music, ranging from techno to progressive to full-on, Hamish always goes on a musical wander when behind the decks. His love of progressive led to the forming of Furthur Progressions r e c o r d s and a n end u r ing DJ partnership with Mark Bedouin. Now, with two compilations under his belt as a DJ and a calendar of label releases and gigs, all Hamish can think is – busy is great, music is fantastic and the dancefloors are happening! On the Way to O.Z.O.R.A. 2016 we had a track-studded talk with Paul Zasky of DUBBLESTANDART who will be performing with the high priest of dub himself, Lee Scratch Perry on this year’s Dragon Nest stage.

Transmitting from the heart of Europe, Viennas Dubblestandart reconstruct classic dub reggae into 21st century bass music. As a 4 piece band their influences range from post punk, industrial to new wave with the lively breath of Dub Reggae. Dub, the predecessor of today’s approach to hip hop, techno, drum n bass or trap, originated in Jamaica during the early 70s when Lee Perry, King Tubby a.o. showed the way to today’s known styles and production technics. Dubblestandart is humbled to have worked with some of their idols: Ariup from the Slits, Dillinger, Ken Boothe, Mikey Dread, Marcia Griffiths, Lee Perry, Mad Professor, Adrian Sherwood to drop some names. If ur lucky u might have got the legendary Return From Planet Dub album that brought them together with film director David Lynch, Lee Perry, Ariup & Rob Smith aka RSD. If u where even more lucky u might have seen one of their rare live appearances, backing up Martha Griffiths in Sweden, Lee Perry in Central Park NYC or India’s top ranking singers Dehli Sultanate & Begum X in Goa, India. But Dubblestandart is at their best when left alone, incorporating all types of styles into their unique blend of Eurotopian Live Dub.
They started back in 1988 in a 2nd district basement aka The Controller Station in Vienna located just around the block of the famous Flex Club at a time when Dub was barely existent in most parts of Europe. Sugar B was hanging in there, then starting the legendary Dub Club in Flex, as well as Spiral Tribe, a legendary Techno Sound System, Roots Controller and many of the now forgotten Viennese underground pioneers. Since then 14 Albums, a number of 12inches as well as around 80 album compilations featuring DS tracks, have been released. Since 2002 they are signed to the German Dub Label Echo Beach/Collision Records. Dubblestandart is ready to perform live in clubs as well as headlining independent & classic reggae festivals, open to support new emerging artists with feature appearances.

DUBBLESTANDART | On the Way to Ozora | 04/06/2016

LIFTSHIFT is joining us to introduce his new remix album, ‘Reshifted’, followed by a brand new mix including the new tracks from the album.

As a direct spawn of the Amsterdam psychedelic influence in the 90’s, Liftshift has characterized himself with a crisp, colorful and Psychedelic sound. Since 2005 he has been releasing on the big labels like: Flow Records, Spin-twist, Neurobiotic and Sourcecode amongst many others.
In the past years Liftshift has been busy touring the globe extensively to major festival like: Ozora, Boom festival, Rainbow Serpent festival, Universo Paralello, Fusion and Exit festival. Playing in countries like Japan, India, Brazil, Thailand and Canada makes Liftshift one of the enthusiastically received and well travelled players in the psychedelic progressive scene.

Growing up in a rich musical environment, around the age of 8 Eric found himself already highly focussed on music. Anything that would make sounds and rattle up noise would have his attention.
After learning his way on a guitar he discovered the ways of music.
At the tender age of 14 he was playing in a band with his mates, hitting the stages of local bars and parties leaving teenagers aroused and dirty after their performances. Coming back to Amsterdam in ’94 from a year of living and playing in bands in the U.S. Eric found back his friends in the midst of a relentless Techno Epidemic. His mates lured him into many clubs and so called awesome “house” parties, but it was not until ’95 when Eric walked into a huge warehouse party where he found his bliss. Goatrance!

Soon after this Eric started spinning vinyl and went to all the places known to have records for sale. Sometimes needing to fight in a store over the last copy off a fresh Flying rhino, T.I.P. or Blue Room EP.
It was Artists like X-dream, Hallucinogen, Slinky Wizard and Sheyba that inspired him most at that time.
Putting up parties with his partners in crime on a scouted piece of land, a squatted 400 year old bunker or in clubs in and around Amsterdam is what got party the psychedelic fanatics familiar with his eclectic choice in music and skills behind the decks. Within no time he was playing non stop in established clubs and for the leading promoters in Holland. These successes made Eric even more hungry and restless naturally leading him on the path of studio production. After sitting inside the studio looking over the shoulder and learning the basics from Ramon Sterman a.k.a. Cosmoon and Twisted Travelers, Eric was ready to buy his own equipment and have a go at it.

In 2005 Liftshift was born and within a few years from the first day he built a reputation for tearing up dance floors worldwide and for having a wide scale of fantasy and a twisted ear for that extra pinch of psychedelics inside the progressive side of the genre. To date he has collaborated with and remixed some of the biggest names the scene has to offer to the likes of Ajja, Zen Mechanics, E-clip, Sonic Species and Allaby amongst others.

In 2015 Eric joined TechSafari records inspirited and managed by Dj Rikam from Canada. The focus of this label is blasting progressive trance!

Interview with  LIFTSHIFT | Reshifted - Album Presentation | 21/06/2016

Psytrance pirate and captain of the World People Production boat, artist and producer, TOTO (also one of the Skyhigh Pirates with Mark Skyhighatrist) is joining us in today’s Festival Frequency to set the mood for the special Mad Max themed 10th anniversary edition of the 2016 BLAST OFF FESTIVAL. Extra appetizers after the talk are two mixes, from Skyhigh Pirates and also World People Prod’s DJ EDELL.

World People is a Trance association created in 2006. Based in the south of France in Carcassonne, it’s the story of 2 buddies, Kristo decorator and Toto DJ, that began by taking a shop around the festivals in Europe. As time went on, and with the love of the trance, we began to organize after-parties for the events where we worked. We began to be known as a Pirate Sound System. In 2006, after 5 years on the road, we created World People. The main purpose of our association is to promote electronic music and the various artists involved in this movement. For that purpose, World People organizes a festival once a year but it is not the same as the others. We want that the festival goers to also be the actors of the event, so our mission is to prepare a place, making the right atmosphere to allow them to express themselves. World People is much more of a musical carnival than a festival of 3 days. Every year, we have a theme to create a complete universe, with decoration and costumes, so that the atmosphere is total. 10 artists of the festival create a track based on the festival theme. These tracks are played for the first time during the festival and you can listen to them again and again on the compilation which bring you back in the festival atmosphere!!!
Then after it become logic to devellop this Festival Cd into a proper label – first to promote friends but things changed quickly and some artists who just came to play at our event had been seducted by our way to think and to do and decided to stay with us on the boat. We already released 14 VA, 10 EP and 4 albums.Since 2014 the label get bigger and bigger and really more world people with some international newbie talents like Chakraview (India) ,Witchcraft (Greece, Meander and Mike from Dri Drop ) Noj Nor (Canada),Wishi (Russia),Mind Pirates (India),Troubled Sequence(Switzerland),Buckle(Brasil) and our project with Mark aka Skyhighatrist from Catawampus rec Skyhigh Pirates.
