The phenomena of DEKEL is not easy to explain in words, but when you listen to his music, everything adds up. Every track of the ‘Junior Shaman’ It is a perfect combination of tension and intelligent beat drops wrapped with a deep psychedelic atmosphere. In a very short time since launching the project, DEKEL managed to create a real sound signature and a solid fan base. His 1st EP ‘Technoid’ was one of the most successful debut releases in the history of HOMmega records and DEKEL became a local sensation in the Israeli scene. The EP was followed by deep banger tunes like ‘Magneto’ and ‘Twister’ which gave DEKEL an international recognition. DEKEL is already touring excessively around the world and 2019 is expected to be a very busy year for him as the work on his anticipated debut album is already in process as well.

Don’t miss ON3’s new set on the next edition of Stereo Society series.

ON3 (pronounced One) aka Samuel Wallerstein, has been producing original and innovative Psytrance and Electronic music since 1996. With well known projects such as PPS Project, Sam Waller and Black & White, Samuel made a long journey, exploring a high range of musical genres and sounds. While avoiding fashions and mainstream trends, Samuel has been paving his own road in the electronic scene with his own special approach to Electronic Dance Music and his unique sound. Samuel has been performing around the globe for two decades, and released 5 albums and countless EPs and compilation tracks on all leading Psytrance labels and beyond. Along the way he has collaborated and exchanged remixes with the likes of Juno Reactor, Art of Trance, Union Jack, Ace Ventura, LOUD, Domestic, Freedom Fighters, Ticon, Sub6, Pixel, Space Cat and many others.
Born in 1981 in Paris, France, and growing up in a musical environment, watching and imitating his father Jazz playing on their home piano, Samuel was an autodidact musician and by the age of 6 he had already played the piano seamlessly, without taking one piano lesson. His unique musical hearing kept leading him to musical search and understanding, falling in love with the world of music and its limitless range of genres.

It was at the age of 15 that he `started producing electronic music. While playing for his friends’ entertainment in small gatherings, Samuel got to know the joy of 4 walls and an old computer, getting his influence from Jazz, Classics and Electronic pioneers such as Aphex Twin and Autechre.

In 1999, with a strong belief he could present a different and innovative electronic sound, Samuel teamed up with his close friend – Felix Nagorsky (TimeLock, Weekend Heroes) to create PPS Project. Within a very short period of time they got well known among Psytrance lovers with their unique brand of psychedelic tech trance. They released a CD single & album with German label Hadashot Haheizar, and various compilation tracks in 3 years of activity.

In 2002 Samuel teamed up with Yaniv Biton (known today as Mr. Black) to form Black & White. The duo was signed to Hommega and in 8 years of activity performed all over the globe while releasing 4 albums on Hommega & Fineplay, 3 EPs including a 12” on Raja Ram’s TIP Records and countless compilation tracks on leading Psytrance labels.
Those varied experiences finally lead Samuel to create his solo and most creative project – ON3. Presenting unique sounds & melodies, old school roots blended with cutting-edge sound production, and diverse electronic influences, Samuel’s vision got worldwide interest and appreciation from well-known labels and got him signed to HOMmega.

After releasing numerous singles and EP’s while working side by side with some of the scene’s biggest names such as Union Jack, Freedom Fighters, Pixel, Sub6 and Domestic, Samuel is putting his effort and intense focus on the production of his highly anticipated debut solo album.

Samuel also creates techno and electronica, performing and DJing under the name ‘Sam Waller’. His tracks were released on labels like Dustin Zhan’s ‘Enemy Records’, ‘Punch Music’ and ‘Renaissance Recordings’ (In Nick Warren’s ‘Masters Series’ edition), remixed by artists like Alex Bau and charted by the likes of Paco Osuna, Paul Kalkbrener and UMEK.

Egon’s Embrace is Mladjo Ivanovic, a US based Serbian psychedelic trance producer.
This is a form of a personal therapy. It is an alter ego that enables me to bleed my heart out, scream, laugh and dance at the same time. As such, it is an ongoing metamorphosis that allows me to explore parts of my personality that are often impossible to explore in everyday life.
My music is very personal and expressive testimony to challenging, often harrowing, periods that we all encounter during our lives. It is a combination of despair, melancholy, joy, hope and reflects a personal journey and arrival in a different (often positive) new place. The sonic vision and emotional honesty that drive my music is lush and intoxicating. I always felt drawn to organic ethos of Macedonian Psychedelic Trance scene, and up to date most of my influences stem from artists who have defined that sound.
In the end, although Egon’s Embrace is drawn towards darker psychedelic sound, there is still a bit of a dreamer in it otherwise.

COLOBOMA | Lost Minute Radio Show #19 | 05/06/2020

Boshke Beats is on, and we’re talking with Arne from the Extrawelt / Midimiliz duo, followed by a set made especially for the occasion.

Living and breathing electronic music for what has now been twenty years, Arne Schaffhausen and Wayan Raabe have carved out a piece of its history and showed us that in the vast spectrum of dance music, where the normal world ends, Extrawelt begins. Starting out as DJ’s, they found their pathway to production in the studio of fellow Hamburg natives, X-Dream. The inspiration they took away from these initial sessions soon pollinated into projects such as ‘Midimiliz', and ‘Spirallianz’; both of which gained remarkable success in the scene. However, it was in 2005 that they started a new project by the name of Extrawelt — marking a new musical trajectory. The very first production under this new moniker, `Soopertrack´ found itself in the hands of James Holden, who then released it on his revered Border Community label. This breakthrough single would pave the way for an exceptional career that includes a plethora of records, remixes and countless live shows at the most interesting clubs and festivals around the
globe.
With their debut album ’Schöne Neue Extrawelt’ garnering attention on both the dance floor and in the media, it was a telling sign of things to come when voted “Best Album 2008” by Groove Magazine and both “Best Album” and “Best Live Act” for the same year in Raveline. As 2011 rolled around, so too did their second album ‘In Aufruhr’ which was also released on Sven Väth’s label Cocoon Recordings and was as equally acclaimed as the first. Adding to the list of notable publications is Faze Magazine, whose readers’
poll awarded them “Best Live Act in 2014” — not surprising considering their live act has been defining them for over a decade and leaving permanent impressions on audiences everywhere. For the duo, each and every show is a chance to manipulate their sound in a flow of measured spontaneity — all while using gear that most people would keep tucked away in their studio. The result is a live-act focussed on purism and great care in presenting the deepest core of their sound — in essence; exactly what sums up their musical galaxy.
2017 marked a year of renewal in the Extrawelt realm. Besides their new studio and freshly curated live set up, their third album ‘Fear of an Extra Planet’ edged itself into the world and found new space to occupy with its focussed and to-the-point ten track oeuvre. And in late 2018 these studio addicts and sound benders will deliver their fourth album, fittingly titled ‘Unknown’ — a journey which deviates into unfamiliar territory. A
brave electronic composition, it hits a sweet-spot with their very own take on electro, while still dazzling us with depth and unique harmonics we have come to know of the pair. By default, this has summoned the arrival of what the pair enjoys doing most; playing live on tours throughout the world with music which continues to remind people of the purity of techno music’s past while shedding light on the sound of the future.

In recent years ayahuasca has gained a global reputation as a powerful tool for personal transformation. Could ayahuasca also play a role in literally transforming and reforesting the world?
This lecture will explore community-lead ayahuasca cultivation as an opportunity for regenerating degraded landscapes of the Amazon rainforest. We’ll discuss the ‘boom’ of interest in Amazonian curanderismo and ayahuasca, reviewing the legal, medical and cultural evolution of the psychoactive brew’s journey across the world. Drawing from the lineage of sacred activism, we’ll also discuss ecological stewardship, permaculture principals, and consider how personal transformation can be a gateway to conscious landscape transformation.
Sophia Rokhlin MSc. is a writer, permaculture-lover and program coordinator developing socially just and regenerative land-use systems. She holds a Master’s degree in ecological economics and is the co-author of the forthcoming book When Plants Dream: Ayahuasca, Amazonian Shamanism and the Global Psychedelic Renaissance(Watkins, 2019). She is a program coordinator at the Chaikuni Institute and directs the sustainable & ethical ayahuasca cultivation program at The Temple of the Way of Light, a traditional plant medicine healing centre in the Peruvian Amazon.
