Dave Owen has carved a path for himself in dance music by combining great drum programing with timeless soul loops and legendary hip-hop samples that often includes slick dnb bootlegs of classic tunes.  Building off his reputation for some of the hottest bootlegs in the game, Dave has curated a 9 track free bootleg release by him and fellow producers Calculon and Flaco.  On Bootlegger's Delight Vol. 1, D.O. and company bring some the dopest jams of the last 20 years into the 170+ BPM range.  The LP is free to download, just go like the Rad Summer Facebook page!

With more support and upcoming co-laborations than can be mentioned, Dave Owen is quickly becoming one of the brightest stars in drum-n-bass; just go ask LTJ Bukem, Grooverider, Fabio or Bailey, whom all drop Dave’s tunes on the regular. The young producer’s style blends hip-hop and old soul samples w/ crisp drums to create a sound that is truly unique. Between a number of smaller releases, his 12″ on Influence and massive ‘Yo Girl’ forthcoming on Creative Source Dave has had a great response in the DnB charts and top 10s for the past few months. A UK based producer exploring the different styles of drum & bass gifts us with 2 quality tracks showing his diverse skills.
 
‘Stones’ brings the funk and gets right to business. With intelligent bass stabs, twisted percussion and great pads, ‘Stones’ fits in nicely with the Sheer Velocity vibe.
 
‘Crimson’ is a laid back affair and is the ‘Ying’ to ‘Stones ‘Yang’. Making good use of the space in the tune with ephemeral sounds and layers of vibes this is a quality piece of music.

RAD SUMMER began back in 2007 as a six week summer tour for djs/producers Curtis Vodka and Flufftronix. Upon a successful completion, operations expanded into a full-blown promotion and booking company ran by Flufftronix and Action Jackson in Bloomington, IN.

Now based in Philly and Indianapolis, RAD SUMMER has become an established name in the Midwest and East-Coast; partnering with brands such as Scion, Mad Decent, Colt 45, PBR, IHEARTCOMIX, Dope Couture, Mishka etc… and booking acts such as Rusko, Benga, Flosstradamus (as performers we’ve also partnered in events for such artists as Soulja Boy, The MisShapes, DJ AM, Steve Aoki, and Girl Talk). In 2011 they expanded to a full fledged record label, with forthcoming releases from Flufftronix, Figure, Lemi Vice, Oreo Jones, RX & Shiftee, and Dave Owen.
