Longtime Rad Summer associates Scott Matelic and Jay McElfresh have linked up to form the production duo Gold Metal.  On the debut LP Drop Out City, Gold Metal has crafted 13 original hip-hop instrumentals that have the perfect blend street and class.  After listening to the album it is quite obvious that both Matelic and McElfresh have a true appreciation of funk breaks.  RS022, Gold Metal's Drop Out City is a perfect intermission in trap's dominance of instrumental hip-hop.

RAD SUMMER began back in 2007 as a six week summer tour for djs/producers Curtis Vodka and Flufftronix. Upon a successful completion, operations expanded into a full-blown promotion and booking company ran by Flufftronix and Action Jackson in Bloomington, IN.

Now based in Philly and Indianapolis, RAD SUMMER has become an established name in the Midwest and East-Coast; partnering with brands such as Scion, Mad Decent, Colt 45, PBR, IHEARTCOMIX, Dope Couture, Mishka etc… and booking acts such as Rusko, Benga, Flosstradamus (as performers we’ve also partnered in events for such artists as Soulja Boy, The MisShapes, DJ AM, Steve Aoki, and Girl Talk). In 2011 they expanded to a full fledged record label, with forthcoming releases from Flufftronix, Figure, Lemi Vice, Oreo Jones, RX & Shiftee, and Dave Owen.
