SWEET DECADENCE - 思想、身体和精神 (Souljahsoulz)

"Structure?  We don't need structure.  We don't need no stinking structure!"--Interbay (probably)  

You see, what we've got here is one of the many "story songs" that make up the a good chunk of the catalog of Interbay.  There aren't versus choruses or bridges...but the mood (and sometimes the tempo) of the track adapt to fit the story being told.  

...and the story of what might or might not have been a nuclear weapons test by an unknown power is cerrtainly a story worth being told--so why not tell it to some classic hip hop breakbeats, some incredibly deep and dark neuro bass, and cinematic sound design going every which way.  

For those of you who love a tight and well-structured pop song with hooks and the ability to lodge in your head like a worm--this is probably not the kind of Interbay track you'd like (though, I hope you listen to it and confirm that suspicion for yourself.)  There's plenty of other Interbay tracks to listen to--may I suggest "Lost Without You (Out There)" which remains woefully unlistened to and could use  your ears.  

However, those of you who are adventurous.  Those of you whose favorite J. Geils Band song was "No Anchovies Please", those of you like Seattle-based comedian Derek Sheen who, instead of picking New Order or Front 242 or LCD Soundsystem, chose to point towards Negativland as his point of comparison for "what Interbay sounds like".  

(My answer?  It sounds, mostly, like Interbay.)  

These are the type of tracks that are "finished" and then sit in The Vault for awhile.  I don't feel the urgent need to share it, but eventually it gets shared...and often, when it gets posted here, it does far better than I ever thought it would.  (Think "Spelunking" as a good comparison track.)  

Hopefully, "Vela Incident (Double Flash)" will find some receptive ears now that it makes its debut.

Did you know that never-before-heard Interbay tracks are posted here on SoundCloud EVERY SINGLE DAY?  (So far, at least.)
