What’s 2 m tall, lives Behind the Iron Curtain, has 1605 reasons to run an awesome label, and flies? Meet UMEK, a techno legend from Slovenia.

UMEK is personally responsible for kickstarting the electronic music scene in his home country by first organizing illegal raves and then becoming one of Slovenia’s most wanted export products and the number one music ambassador to the whole world.

And he does fly! Around 100 times per year, visiting almost every continent each year. His gig diary ranges from dark underground clubs in Berlin to massive techno stages at the world’s most renowned festivals. 

Apart from making his name in the DJ booth, he’s also a tireless producer. He mostly releases on his own imprint 1605, and most of his tracks end up on the very top of Beatport’s charts. After more than 25 years as a professional musician, he decided to use his experience and skills in the entrepreneurial world. Together with his managers, he founded a music-tech startup Viberate (www.viberate.com), where they are building the world’s greatest music platform.

Filippo Calcagni, better known by his artist name DJ Mad Dog, is an Italian DJ, producer,  and owner of Dogfight Records.

Known for his furious and flaming beats that range across all tempos, Italian Hardcore sensation Mad Dog is unquestionably one of the industry’s most consistent producers. Active in the scene since 1999 and an exponent of the Millennium and Modern Hardcore eras, Mad Dog has remained in an unshakeable position through all of the genre’s twists and turns. 

He’s performed on the world’s biggest stages at Thunderdome, EDC Las Vegas, Qlimax, Mysteryland, Dominator, and many more.

With nearly 15 years as playing music, Wald is a well-known figure on the Scandinavian electronic music scene. 

His career took off with a breakthrough at the Swedish, legendary Monday Bar cruise, and since then, he has established himself as a DJ with a broad, unique musical style and an ability to adapt to any occasion. 

He has performed in Sweden, Norway, Finland, and the Netherlands for promoters such as Monday Bar, Psynergy, Sound Nation, Technostate, Deztination, and Tillsammans, sharing the stage with numerous international mega-artists like Astrix, Liquid Soul, Ace Ventura, Sander van Doorn, Sean Tyas, and Skazi, to name a few. 

Whether performing under his psychedelic alter ego iPSY! or as Wald, focusing more on techno, from melodic to high peak, his dynamic sets are characterized by an energy that keeps the dance floor moving while he is never afraid to push boundaries and blend styles. It is this sense of timing and variation that makes Wald a DJ who always delivers something unique.
