Juan Yarin is next up on the Rumors with his Lovefool EP, which comes with a remix from label head Guy Gerber, completing a standout package.

Juan Yarin is a core part of the Rumors family and a regular at the label's Ibiza party. He has released his emotive brand of deep house here before, such as with last year's Venice Beach EP, and impresses once more this time out.

Lovefool opens up with spine-tingling piano chords draped over soft, deep house drums. A tender vocal completes the most majestic groove. Lovefool (Guy Gerber Remix) is a stylish tweak with the piano chords left in place and the drums given a little extra bite. The whole thing sinks you into a reverie and makes for truly beautiful listening. Paradiso then picks up the pace with a more upright house sound this time with low-slung bass and icy hi hats adding detail next to the elegant synth craft. Lina closes down with some heady, hypotonic house that is filled with late-night atmosphere and swirling cosmic keys.

Before its release date "LOVEFOOL" has already been played by known artists such as KEINEMUSIK at BURNING MAN 2022, and even received a special remix version by GUY GERBER to be released along with the EP. The release will be promoted on a live European tour coming up soon."

For its last release of 2023, When We Dip XYZ is proud to present a three track remix pack of Motip White’s ‘Clean the Turbines’ EP. 

Kicking things off is Atish, chopping and pitching Motip White’s vocal from ‘What Do You Want Me to Say.’ The Manjumasi label-boss complements the track with a rolling bassline, glitches hitting left, right, and centre, and the gritty bass fills from the original. 
 
Also taking on ‘What Do You Want Me to Say,’ Gespona & Djolee craft huge percussion rolls and manipulate White’s layers and textures. The two artists, who have just launched their own label ‘Rummel,’ leave room for the memorable hook halfway through, which then recedes in favour of the heavy drums. 

Third up is Meera with her take on ‘Clean the Turbines.’ Faithful to her style, which has recently been showcased on VOD and Crosstown Rebels, she opposes a subby kick with a tempest of hats & shakers, harmonically guided by a light piano. The Norwegian producer keeps on building the energy, surprisingly introducing her own vocals and an acid layer on the arp as the tune unfolds.

Hailing from Argentina and Brazil respectively, the occasional studio partners have collaborated on EPs for Dear Deer Black and Dear Deer White, while their solo efforts have found a home on Beat Boutique, Get Physical, Balance and Warung Recordings. Last year the duo took to reworking Empire Of The Sun’s hugely popular ‘We Are The People’.
