Head-bobbing, dance-inspiring moments pervade the entire track and are made all the more memorable by a gliding, distorted bass line that gives the track a truly unique sound. "Give It Up" delights listeners with a quintessential deep house sound. Soulful vocal samples and resounding, funky bass riffs give way to melodic mallet synths that impart a rich atmosphere to the low rhythmic groove.

Grum & Kevin McKay have been collaborating for a long time. A few years ago Grum's remix of Kevin's "Body Talk" was a hit with the likes of Agoria, Tensnake & Groove Armada and recently Kevin did some production work on Grum's current Progressive House hit "Reflections" (2 months and counting in the Beatport chart with support from Deadmau5, Eelke Kleijn & Jonas Rathsman).

"Shooting Star" is the kind of thing we want to hear when we're in those special night club head-states that require a killer melodic groove. If you want a style marker, think Sasha/Rufus or Dixon/XX. Other than that, here it is: no b side, no remixes, just 8 minutes of hypnotic club music.

Grum & Kevin McKay - Shooting Star (Extended Mix) [Glasgow Underground]

Paired with a sparkling remix from Orsen, Ad Brown's "Calibre" was a highlight of the Particles release portfolio in early 2016. Already responsible for a host of worldwide smash hits, Brown has never been far from the limelight, as Yin : Yang now returns to the track with remixes from Canada and Italy.

From Montreal at the eastern end of the Saint Lawrence Seaway, Elias Barouche has consistently made waves with his Solid Stone moniker. Beginning his assault on the progressive house and trance scene in 2010 with his first commercial releases for Alter Ego in mid 2011, the Solid Stone name has been consistently supported by big-hitters that include Above & Beyond, Markus Schulz and Max Graham. Furthermore, one has only to look at his production portfolio, to see the names Black Hole, ARVA and Coldharbour writ large across his work. Indeed, almost a half-century of credits for the Schulz-led label have showcased the Canadian's innumerable talents. 

Making his debut for Yin, the Solid Stone remix of "Calibre" is thus an epic offering, full of the trademark production skills that have seen his work so well supported. With close attention paid to Brown's original melody immediately identifying the track, a strong rhythmic backdrop and deep bass groove can be felt throughout, accompanied by a wealth of additional production material that is epitomised in a glorious spine-tingling bass line. Pairing rhythm and melody once more in the third movement, the Solid Stone remix is a strong reinterpretation full of skill and verve.

The stark landscapes and crisp climates that characterize the winter months can clarify, if not intensify, our emotions. Music released this time of year has a tendency to be especially raw and poignant, which is certainly the case for the five exceptional cuts featured on "Winter Selections 03."

The release opens with "Perfect Travel," a lush and evocative deep-progressive gem by Silk newcomer Mcvinski. The Russian talent crafts a gorgeous, almost mystical soundscape in the early going, which is soon joined by a funky and erotic groove. In the main breakdown gorgeous pads and hypnotic synths create a deep and sensual, yet equally climactic score. In the final minutes of the composition, the various melodic and atmospheric elements are re-introduced one last (glorious) time.

Excited to welcome back Illumia, whose last contribution to our imprint, "I See U," dates back to the end of 2014. The equally deep, soothing, and sexy "I Know" is proffered here; the song derives its name from an infectious vocal hook that appears throughout the composition, in varying pitches. A buoyant and uplifting groove underpins the arrangement, and a variety of subtle and elegant melodic touches further enhance the sanguine soundscape. 

Responsible for two glorious deep-progressive EPs on our imprint in 2017, Alex Pich contributes "Way Home Inside," another standout tune from the promising Russian composer. Subtly melodic, yet profoundly evocative textures envelop the soundscape in the early going. A patient rhythmic crescendo ultimately leads to a suspenseful, string-backed breakdown. The delicious tension of the arrangement is finally released in the song's latter half, in which the delicate (and gorgeous) melodic layers coalesce to lush and emotive effect.

Itwo5 (Ukraine) and singer-songwriter Ana Ana (Germany), both Silk Music newcomers, grace the achingly beautiful "Sea." Chilled beats and moody pads underpin Ana Ana's wistful vocals. The innovative broken-beat rhythm picks up a little bit of steam as the song progresses, but the overall listening experience, ideally suited for the after hours, is one of deep contemplation for the listener.

Conor Hynes officially launches his Aleyum alias on our imprint, courtesy of the stunning progressive breaks cut "Soul Remedy." The Irish talent crafts a celestial soundscape in the early going, replete with ethereal pads, cinematic atmospheric touches, and, of course, star-studded synth lines. The deeply cathartic main breakdown unites the harmonious sounds of Mother Nature with the gorgeous melody lines introduced earlier in the song, including a timeless guitar riff.
