Glitch Hop award winner Mat Tha Hat and Wom proudly present their alter ego, CATJAM.  Forging an experimental venture into the world of swing-infused beats, the Essex-based pair have emerged from the studio on a self-proclaimed mission to combine vintage samples, heavy breaks and booty-shaking bass.

Their self titled debut EP is a 5 track smasher which takes the Electro Swing genre into a brand new direction, resulting in a frenetic, and at times anarchic, take on the ever-popular vintage inspired sound.

CATJAM - CATJAM EP (Minimix)

I had a lot of fun making this track with the turntablist wizard and 3 x world DJ champion that is JFB. We made this on a sunny day in Brighton at his home studio and smashed it out pretty fast in a day. 

We've been testing it on dancefloors for the better part of a year and it's been doing the job nicely. We hope you like it!

Jocelyn Brown - Somebody Else's Guy (JFB & Fizzy Gillespie Drum'n'Bass Remix)

We're very pleased to welcome Odd Chap back to the label with his remix of Thrill Ride.  The original 'Thrill Ride' produced by Tom ESC & featuring the beautiful vocals of Emma Lea switches between tasty guitar hooks, fun swing beats, brass licks, and what can only be described as lush monkey island vibes.  

In his remix, Odd Chap pays homage to the original, keeping to the same vibe, but with phatter chunkier beats and a heavier electronic bassline.  In the breakdown Odd Chap builds a lush soundscape with Emma's vocals, double bass and keys all beautifully tied together with a precise Hip Hop beat.  Once the drop hits however, it's time to get moving with phat double time drums, beefy electronic bass and big brass licks.

Stick this track in your road trip playlist, it's time for a Thrill Ride!

C@ In The H@ is back with another swing beat number, teaming up with two incredible singers, Emma Lea & Angie Brown for this saucy blend of styles.  At the heart of the track is a solid swing beat and woodwind and brass section hook.  Taking plenty of influence from old soul and vintage RnB and using modern production techniques, the old is most definitely fused with the new on this one.
