Aside from his abnormal dance moves, Kurnel MC is the proud owner of a dextrous singing voice and witty rapping. Hailing from the far away lands of New Zealand, Kurnel moved to the UK in 2012, and has since infiltrated many of the UK's scenes, rocking microphones for numerous labels. With over 20 years in the game, Kurnel MC has the edge when it comes to finding the perfect balance between rocking the crowd with maximum energy, and letting the music breathe.

As the word on the street has it, Falmouth based Hip Hop producer The Fritz, had been working on something particularly jazzy and soulful since the release of his debut EP 'Schweet'. In steps Kurnel MC, who on hearing the beat knew it was the perfect vessel for telling his story about the troubles of a long distance relationship, and 'Long Time' was born.

Joined by Sharleena Ray, the beautifully soulful singer and former frontwoman of The Swinghoppers, the pair soulfully tell the story which many can relate to, a story of separation and heartache, and ultimately reunion. Over a lucious vintage piano lick, the pair tell the story; each verse written like love letters between the couple penned in smokey jazz clubs and sealed with a kiss.

The Fritz, beat maker extraordinaire and all round sample-based music enthusiast from Cornwall, returns to Ragtime Records with a Jazz Hop double A side, Lemonade, and Back in '89. 

Packed with vintage samples from London's 1920s swing scene and iconic Film Noir vocals, Lemonade is a glitchy lo-fi beat that's filled with rare Big Band loops that are blended with authentic Boom-Bap drums, MPC style. 

Next up is Back in '89, a swingy nod to the Golden Era of Hip Hop that's as atmospheric as it is catchy, with a stuttered sample, neck-breaking head-nod rhythm, and a warm low-end that's just right.

Fresh off the back of the double AA release Lemonade, The Fritz returns with the latest installment of his film-noir inspired Jazz Hop series. 

Dripping with atmosphere and intrigue is the title track 'Good Morning, Sunshine', which features a rolling vintage-jazz sample, crisp drums, and a vocal hook from Raymon Chandler's The Big Sleep. Hot on its heels is followed up by 'Oohh!', a unique swung-out groover featuring a very Fritzy-sample from a country-inspired jazz album - yee haw!

'Welcome to Jazz Club' is the A side of Ragtime's latest release, and it features a very nice vocal hook, a sleazy horn lead, and a heavy-weight bassline that'll rattle fillings loose, reawaken long-dormant tinnitus, and annoy the heck out of your neighbours - or maybe all three.

On the AA Side is 'Coming Through Any Time Soon?', a mellow yet glitched out piano number complete with crisp analogue drums, topped off with a catchy vocal loop, and more than a subtle nod at Golden Era Hip Hop.

Hailing from Falmouth, UK, The Fritz is known for his jazzy sample-based lo-fi glitchy bangers.  Always digging deep, his works give a nod to the Golden Era of Hip Hop with a boom bap style and blend of vintage film noir samples.

This time he returns to Ragtime Records with his third single, Roll Up Roll Up, a sultry glitched-out Jazz Hop banger that's more atmospheric than a bag of crisps in space, with dusty hip-hop drums, a low end that's just right, and a unique vibe that's reminiscent of sci-fi, the roaring 20s, and an acid trip - think Blade Runner meets the Great Gatsby. 

On the flip side is Swing Time Roller, a hypnotic head-nodder similar in style to Fritz's second single, 'Good Morning, Sunshine', with a loop that flows for days and will have you hitting 'repeat' on Spotify before you've reached the end of the track.

The Fritz is back once again with his latest sonic concoction of head nodding boom bap as he brings us his remix of 'Fart Smunkey' by the Heavy Beat Brass Band. 

From out of Birmingham UK, Heavy Beat Brass Band (HBBB) combine modern jazz, pop and funk with the heavy sounds of New Orleans Brass.  Made up of 8 young professional musicians personally mentored by Keith Frazier of New Orleans own Rebirth Brass Band, Heavy Beat Brass Band brings the authentic sounds of Mardis Gras and New Orleans to the UK.  Equally at home on the stage or as a marching band, HBBB have been doing the rounds and have now established themselves as firm favourites on the UK festival scene.

Hailing from Falmouth, UK, The Fritz is known for his jazzy sample-based lo-fi glitchy bangers.  Drawing from his signature style, The Fritz infuses HBBB's Fart Smunkey with his own unique blend of lo-fi sounds, film noir samples and boom bap beats that even the most sedate of listeners would struggle not to nod their head to.

Brimming with allure and charisma, this remix transports listeners to the dimly lit confines of a smokey New Orleans jazz bar, where the music flows freely and inhibitions are left at the door.  Like a seasoned jazz musician stumbling onto the stage after a night of revelry, the brass lick in the remix carries a charmingly drunken swagger, adding a layer o­f unpredictability and delight to the track.

The Fritz - I'm Going Crazy

Stuck Up There is the latest instalment in The Fritz's exploration through  obscure jazz records and 1960s sci-fi. With a melancholy sample, the tune tells the story of a group of astronauts who are unable to get home after their  spaceship breaks down on the Moon.  
As the vocal sings 'misery, you've got to go', the astronauts look back at Earth  and lament that they'll never be able to describe the beauty of the view to  anyone back home.  
Coupled with Fritz's unique drum sound and crisp production, this latest  release form Ragtime Records is surely destined to get Stuck Up There after  you've played it through your headphones.
