A Message for the Future Echoing Across the Skies of the World: Lead Track from Highly Anticipated Album ‘Flow’ Completed with Jarreau Vandal
The second collaboration with charismatic beatmaker/producer Jarreau Vandal from Amsterdam, Netherlands, is now complete. ‘Free as a Bird’ is a key track from Nao Yoshioka’s new album ‘Flow.’ The song, themed around “freedom and liberation like a bird in flight,” reflects on the dream of a free future. This work showcases Jarreau’s signature modern take on the 80’s style, featuring ethereal synth tones and a bright, groovy synth bass, blending POPS, R&B, and 80’s SOUL to create a pleasant groove. Inspired by Jarreau’s track, Nao’s soulful yet elegant and vibrant voice, reminiscent of the birth of life itself, complements the melody and delicate lyrics she quickly wrote. The scat sections within the song, combined with Jarreau’s track, evoke the image of birds freely soaring in the sky.
Nao Yoshioka, a Japanese R&B/SOUL singer with a strong identity in the global music scene, has increased her international recognition by participating in a festival in Singapore in May and an IG reel with the French human beatbox crew Berywam, garnering 150 million views. Her long-awaited fifth album, ‘Flow,’ is set to release on June 28. Following release parties in Tokyo and Osaka, solo performances in London, two UK festivals, and concerts in Berlin and the Netherlands have already been scheduled.
