Pagos(Πάγος)(Pop Smoke - Dior Rework)

I'm a designer and music producer based in Costa Rica. For the past 8 years, I've been honing my skills in production and DJing, exploring different formats and genres along the way. I've had the privilege of performing and residing in various places like Mexico, Spain, and currently Boston.

From the start, my focus with Raido has been on pushing the boundaries of different musical genres while emphasizing textures and soundscapes. My latest music aims to capture the ambiance of a nighttime jungle fused with the dystopian aspects of our modern world.

In my newest mix, I've delved deeper into Gqom and similar sounds, taking the opportunity to explore the genre further. The unreleased tracks in the mix represent some of my initial explorations with Gqom, and I'm excited to share that I'm collaborating with South African artists Emo Kid and Deejay Jackzin in the coming weeks to finalize a few Gqom tracks for an official release.

Ronnie Loko presents The Loko Effect show, where the musician/DJ showcases his ability to mix and blend influential dance beats stemming from his Ghanaian heritage, London upbringing and American trap sounds. This unique fusion between the worlds of dance and rap music is what Ronnie defines as ‘Trap House.’ Expect to hear exclusive productions from the producer along with interviews and guest mixes from other talents within his music network.

In for this month's challenge guest mix is the talented selector and vibe setter @ayayadj doing what she does best by blending up the riddims.

Dumbanengue Sounds is our curated collection of DJ mixes. In our initial 10 volumes, we spotlighted DJs and Producers from South Africa. For volumes 11 to 20, our focus shifts towards exploring how producers and DJs from outside South Africa are influenced by South African sounds.

For Dumbanengue Sounds Vol. 16, we are excited to feature Raido (@raidosounds), an electronic music artist originally from Costa Rica and now based in Albany, New York. With a decade of production experience, Raido has consistently sought to blur the lines between genres and explore the impact of various cultures on Costa Rican music. His deep passion for Gqom and Brazilian Funk shines through in his compositions and in his mix.
