At the end of 2020, I played this set on The Detour Drive, The Funk Hunter's weekly stream on Twitch. I dug into my crates for some of my favorite jams that likely wouldn’t make it into any other mixes. From funk to feel-good house to a bunch of classics, this mix has a bit of everyone to enjoy. This mix is dedicated to the vibe of Sunday Afternoon.  Whether you’re kickin back and relaxin, out getting your adventure on, taking a Sunday cruise or just rejuvenating from a wild weekend - this is your soundtrack.  

The songs in this are some of my all-time favorites and it was really fun and challenging doing something a bit different.  There are no originals of mine in here and I didn’t play any trumpet as I’m no longer playing trumpet.  That being said I tried to bring something fresh and unique while still dropping in some throwback gems.  About 100+ hours went into putting this together, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

So this mix is years overdue... As a DJ who started out playing strictly DnB I used to have a secret hate on for house music. House was always a dirty word in my vocabulary but over the years, especially during the pandemic I started to dig it more and more. My doctor said there was nothing wrong with me, it's perfectly normal to like house music.😅 I'm no aficionado but, for a while, I've wanted to put together a bunch of my favorite housey & garagey tunes. 2 years later,  Its still hard to believe that our friend Pumpkin is gone.  I had DJ'd a show with Nicholas in San Fransisco just 1 week before the accident and I'll never forget the morning I woke up to the news of his passing.  I instantly felt the hearts of so many being shattered including my own.  Since that time all I have felt is those shattered hearts come together and become stronger as Nicks legacy, music, and love lives on with us everyday.

Pumpkin will always be one of my favorite DJ's with his impeccable taste and the ability to touch the hearts of everyone on the dance floor thru music. This tribute mix was recorded following his Celebration of Life on Monday April 4th, 2016 and shared with some of Nicks closest friends at the Boogaloo Crew HQ in Los Angeles <3
