Brooklyn-based producer Jitwam takes to The Jazz Diaries, the label he runs with Casey Van Reyk and Nigel Mphisa, to release his latest vibed-out offering in the 'Purple' EP, which features a heavy dose of his distinctly funky, soulful and eclectic sound-profile.

Born in India, raised in Australia and now splitting time between Brooklyn and London, Jitwam's vast musical knowledge and diverse influences shine in his unique productions. When describing the new record, he shares that it's “heavily influenced by the rhythm of New York. The buses, cars, and trains... It feels like a night out in NYC, making your way to the club and ending back at the crib at 5 AM watching the sunrise.”

Here Mixmag premieres the lead cut 'Desire', a bumping and bouncing groove oozing with a smooth arrangement of organic elements, piercing guitar riffs and sensual vocals. 

Jitwam's 'Purple' EP is set to be released July 18.
