~Time for our little Q&A~

>>Who are you and where are you from?
I'm Kotoe, born in Japan, raised in Japan and based in Berlin.

>>When and how did you start your musical journey?
When I was 6, I started taking classes of japanese karaoke singing. With 18, I started a musical theater career for almost ten years and switched to electronic music in 2016. 

>>What do you like particularly about "slow" music?
All the spaces, rhythms and sounds that comes in between the 1 and the 2.

>>What inspired you while creating the set?
The beautiful landscape of Halkidiki in Greece, the Ethnik bar and the lift of the Corona restrictions after so long. 

>>What's your current favorite track or set?
Tribute from Last Waltz.

>>Which beautiful moment do you like to remember in association with electronic music?
The final song that I sung with Danilo Timm, my best friend, in Seebühne from Garbicz 2019. We both ended up in tears. haha.

>>What's your wish for the future nightlife?
That the dancefloor keep embracing a lot of people, being a safe space for who is in need to it.

ki ya tori is a project founded in 2019 by the two friends coss and iorie aka their aliases ki dake and tori dake to make musical techno and one day travel to japan together.

Their sound is colourful but always driving and trying to stay true to the minimalistic ideals of dancable techno music.

In 2020 they also founded their own label „mimoton“ to promote their sound and friends who think alike.

Mit »luz, paz y alegria para todos!« schließt der liebe Paco seine Worte, als er mir seinen Beitrag für den Seasidetrip überreichte. Mittlerweile weiß und spüre ich, wie sehr sie zu seinem Mix passen und wie treffend sie seine Einstellung und seine Gefühle zur Musik wiedergeben. Ich mag seine Sets und die Stimmung, welche er darin aufbaut und transportiert, und so höre ich ihm bereits seit etlichen Monden zu. Es war für mich eine Frage der Zeit, bis ich ihn zum Seasidetrip einlade und vor kurzem schien mir der passende Zeitpunkt gekommen. Und so erzählte er mir unter anderem von seinen Reisen in den Süden, denn dort verbringt er am liebsten seine Zeit am Meer. Er sitzt dann dort am Strand und fühlt sich teils melancholisch und andererseits mit einer gewissen südländischen Leichtigkeit versehen. Um das für sich ausdrücken zu können, so erzählt er mir in einer lau-warmen Sommernacht auf dem Oberdeck, hat er sich für Tracks mit »world-Anleihen« entschieden. Hinzu kommen längere Tracks, mit welchen ihr die Weite des Meeres und die damit verbundene Zeitlosigkeit fühlen und erahnen könnt. Er hat einfach das in diesen Mix gepackt, was ihn ausmacht: Liebe. Ein Mix nach absolutem Gusto für euren Käpt’n und seine Crew. So kommt mit uns an den Strand, entspannt und lauscht den Wellen und Paco seinen Klängen.

„Sorry, dass es etwas länger gedauert hat, aber dafür habe ich den Podcast mit extra viel Liebe gemacht. Die Idee für diesen Mix hatte ich schon länger und ich freue mich sehr, dass du mir diesen tollen Anlass geliefert hast, das Ganze endlich zum Klingen zu bringen. Ich wollte gern einen grooving Summer-Mix mit vielen Hits machen, der möglichst viel Optimismus verbreitet und Mut macht - der Krise zum Trotz! Mich tröstet nämlich kein Toilettenpapier. Die Musik ist mein mentaler Fallschirm, um diese schwierige Situationen zu überstehen. Zudem erinnert mich jeder Beat daran, dass ein freies und buntes Leben in Gemeinschaft das Wertvollste ist! “Chasing Rabbits” on Keller is Oilst & Ben Jarli's debut EP. They have developed their own unique style of eclectic downtempo, blending inspiration from a broad and colourful spectrum of genres. The three original tracks featured on this EP share a distinctive analogue sound design, and a dark, yet warm timbre.

The EP also includes two remixes of the title track. The first is an epic contribution from the up-and-coming live act O/Y, where the original’s signature acid bassline evolves into immersive ambient soundscapes. The second is a serotonin fuelled festival anthem by Molto, a promising offspring of the Keller stable.

Today is the first day of spring, and many people around the world neither agree with this statement, nor understand it. Okay. Today is the first day of spring calendar-wise, but generally, the beginning and end of four seasons in different countries are determined by two methods, based on calendar and astronomical periods. The calendar says March 1 heralds the beginning of spring, while astronomically the vernal equinox on March 20 is the beginning and summer solstice on June 21 is the end of spring. In addition, there are meteorological, phenological and cultural principles for determining the beginning of the seasons of the year. If we also consider the fact that spring begins in September in the Southern Hemisphere, March 1 becomes just a regular day, which differs from the rest of the days in that we are publishing @dusty-little-kid’s set, which is wonderful. (The “wonderful” part refers to the set, and not to it being published on the calendar’s first day of spring.)
