Dedicated to Norberto Jurasek, my best friend and wisest teacher, who 3 years ago left this world. I am so grateful for having known him and for the love and wisdom he has shown me. Norberto, From my 1st workshop with him in October 2015: "We all have our work to do. And here together in these workshops we have a great opportunity to do a lot of work with the help of our medicine. But there is a parallel growth. Beyond fixing this and that in your life, we grow by experiencing the love, the thing beyond death. You cannot hold onto it. It must be experienced again and again. But by getting that experience again and again, you build the trust : that love is IT, and always will be. And maybe that is this lesson which is the deepest of all". ALWAYS dear Norberto. LOVE and beyond death! In the end, when these bones are only bones, all that matters is how much we gave and how much we loved. And you gave and loved so much dearest Norberto.

We hope you find expansiveness and joy in this experience, whether you are an experienced meditator or have no experience - there is no right or wrong way to be with what is; it only requires that surrender into the waves of awareness.

BEHIND THE PROJECT
When I spent time with Ram Dass in Maui recently, he asked me about our music. I said, “We take the love that people give us and send it back out as music. It’s a feedback loop.”

“Ah,” he stopped me, grinning. “That’s your ego talking. You see that? Your ego gives and takes. It manipulates. Your true essence is to simply be the love. There’s nothing to do there.”

It’s a subtle difference but I sit with this every day. He’s not saying that our ego is bad; we need it, too. He’s saying that there’s a seat of consciousness behind the thinking mind that is pure love. Or call it pure awareness, or God. Same thing. When you access that place, you simply just be. There’s nothing to do there, no desire to attempt to change yourself or anyone else. You are perfect just as you are. I’ve felt it and it’s liberating.

I am honored to present this collaboration with Ram Dass. It’s an homage to someone who has pointed me in the right direction. We hope it brings you joy. Set aside 30 mins and dive deep.

RAM DASS is one of the most important cultural figures from the 1960s and 70s. He is a psychedelic pioneer, author of Be Here Now, beloved spiritual teacher, and outspoken advocate for death-and-dying awareness. Ram Dass first went to India in 1967. He was still Dr. Richard Alpert, a prominent Harvard psychologist and psychedelic pioneer with Dr. Timothy Leary. He continued his psychedelic research until that fateful Eastern trip in 1967, when he traveled to India. In India, he met his guru, Neem Karoli Baba, affectionately known as Maharajji, who gave Ram Dass his name, which means “servant of God.” Everything changed then – his intense dharmic life started, and he became a pivotal influence on a culture that has reverberated with the words “Be Here Now” ever since. Ram Dass’ spirit has been a guiding light for three generations, carrying along millions on the journey, helping to free them from their bonds as he works through his own. On February 19th 1997, Ram Dass suffered a near-fatal stroke, which left him paralyzed on the right side of his body and expressive aphasia limiting his ability to speak, along with other challenging ailments.

Ram Dass now resides on Maui. His work continues to be a path of inspiration to his old students and friends as well as young people who are just discovering the path of Being Here Now. His most recent books include Be Love Now (2011), Polishing the Mirror: How to Live from Your Spiritual Heart (2013), Cookbook for Awakening (2017), and Walking Each Other Home (2018).
