Panama is a country in Central America, bordering Costa Rica to the west and Colombia to the east. The Panama Canal, which crosses the country, connects the Caribbean with the Pacific Ocean. The canal, one of the most important waterways in the world, is by far the most important source of income for the state of Panama.

Panama gained independence from Colombia in 1903. After that, the country was under the influence of the USA for a long time. In 1999, the United States finally relinquished full control of the Panama Canal to the state of Panama. Thanks to the income from the canal, Panama is now one of the richest countries in Latin America.

Barbados is an island nation in the Atlantic Ocean and part of the Lesser Antilles. Barbados is located northeast of Venezuela in the Caribbean and is geographically considered part of Central America. The former British colony gained independence from the United Kingdom in 1966, but remained a sovereign member state of the Commonwealth of Nations as a Commonwealth realm and was in personal union with the British Crown until 2021. Since November 30, 2021, it has been a republic with President Sandra Mason.

The capital, Bridgetown, with its colonial-era buildings and the Nidhe Israel Jewish synagogue dating back to 1654, is a popular destination for cruise ships. The island boasts numerous beaches, a botanical garden, the Harrison's Cave, and 17th-century plantation estates such as St. Nicholas Abbey. Local traditions include afternoon tea and the national sport of cricket.

is an emirate in Western Asia and is located on the east coast of the Arabian Peninsula on the Persian Gulf.

The country largely consists of a peninsula that borders Saudi Arabia to the south. The Kingdom of Bahrain lies off the coast in the northwest. The national territory also includes some islands. The country stretches around 180 kilometers from south to north and 80 kilometers from west to east. The entire national territory is a desert with no year-round water and almost no vegetation. Due to the majority of South and Southeast Asian origins of these workers, South Asians alone make up over half of all Qatari residents. Because the workforce is largely male, Qatar also has the highest proportion of men in the country's population in the world.

Comoros officially known as the Union of the Comoros since 2001, they form a federal island state in the Indian Ocean at the northern exit of the Mozambique Strait between Mozambique and Madagascar. The nearly one million inhabitants of the Comoros are of mixed, predominantly East African and Arab descent and are mostly Muslim.

The Comoros gained independence from France in 1975 and initially experienced a turbulent history with coups and secessionist movements. The last successful military coup took place in 1999, led by Azali Assoumani. He then ruled the country in an authoritarian manner until 2006 and again since 2016. Human rights violations occur regularly. Corruption is widespread, as is poverty: The Comoros are among the poorest countries in the world.

I was in Prilep, Pelagonia province, North Macedonia in October 2022 during the Macedonian Uprising Day (October 11). I made some recordings of the celebrations in the evening and also of my hike to the Markovi Kuli (Marko's Towers) in the morning, a truly beautiful place.

Even as a small child I wanted to learn a musical instrument...

...since there was a music school in our small town where I grew up, but it was limited to the activities of the local musicians' band, the choice was rather limited... because piano, guitar or saxophone were not offered and that's why I decided me for the trumpet, which was not used for cast-technical reasons, so the FLÜGELHORN became my instrument...
In my youth I turned my back on music and was active in sports towards the end of my teenage years.
