On 18th & 19th July 2012 I was one of the guests at Dubmorphology's two day performance in the Tate Modern Oil Tanks; large concrete chambers within the Tate Modern building, fitted with a powerful sound system. This performance becomes a Ramjac bass adventure, seeking powerful resonances by sending sinewaves of decreasing frequencies into the echoing room. This recording does not do the room's sound justice but is compensated for by fellow guest and fabulous opera singer Gretchen Cummings, who can be heard singing atop some of the lower frequencies after 5 minutes or so.

Written in 1992 using Emax sampler and Atari 520ST and Dr T's KCS sequencing software, plus Sequential Circuits Drumtraks. Content: Samples from John Stevens, Chief Ebeneezer Obey, Lee Purkis (In Sync)'s TR909 programming, Capital Letters and added during mixing in 2023, some random geezer in the Internet street shouting "Hey! I'm gonna kill you with love!" Stems mixed by Trevor Lancaster Smith @ Fluffy Puppy Studio for forthcoming Ramjac album "88-92".

A CDJ set of unproduced and unreleased Ramjac originals from between 1988-1992. Recorded at the inSpiral lounge in Camden, London, on May 1st 2009. With the exception of the first track which was recorded for Plink Plonk Records at the Watershed Studio with Paul Rip, Ian Tregonin and Jono Podmore, all the tracks are straight from the stereo output of the Emax sampler, as they were written, some with the Drumtraks drum machine.

Written in 2002, posted 2018 in memory of Jalal Mansur of The Last Poets. Major inspiration. Live drums played on midi kit triggering Charles Moffet samples from Ornette Coleman's 1965 Copenhagen concert, added to Sequential Circuits Drumtraks drum machine.

In 2001 I travelled to China as percussionist with State of Bengal on a 3 week tour for the British Council. We played concerts and held music workshops in Beijing, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Chongqing and Shanghai. 

At Chongqing University, we played two nights in an open air amphitheatre to a total of 13,000 people. At the first concert, one of the workshop students gave me a gift of a Chinese classical music CD. Back in the hotel the next day, I played the CD through an electronic percussion unit with noise gates and digital delay. I got myself a short slot onstage before State of Bengal came on and played the remix live. I am grateful to sound engineer Simon King for recording the performance.

Ramjac Corporation is one of UK's unsung electronic pioneers, known for his voltaic live shows during the acid house explosion, jamming his original flavour of sampled beats live from his Atari and Emulator sampler. Ramjac performed at the now legendary Sunrise, Energy and Back To The Future raves, touring with Orbital, The Shaman and The Irresistible Force.
Best known for his releases on cult record label Irdial Discs, his now highly sought after and much heralded classic “"Cameroon Massif!” EP has become a feature of the more ground-breaking DJs again and was re-issued last summer by Emotional Rescue Recordings, including a never heard before “live" version, now to be followed by further unreleased material from the period, mixed and also being performed live from 8 track reel to reel tape machines.
Ramjac''s rhythmic programming style, weighted by his training with West African and Cuban drummers, led him to work with the likes of Coldcut and Herbie Hancock, Juno Reactor and Ojos de Brujo, Mark Stewart and Asian Dub Foundation. According to ADF's Dr Das, “What Ramjac does, is show up the relationships between different musics and the routes they have taken. More than a lot of people, Ramjac is the missing link between house, acid house, breakbeat, jungle and dub and percussion based musics.”
Ramjac's current live reel to reel shows regularly feature long time collaborator Milo Lapis of the 50-50 Sound System, as heard on Resonance 104.4 FM for the past 17 years.
