Focusfire is the brainchild of Ignescent label owner Deen Pride and the talent of musician Fascad, a producer who’s already littered several imprints with his refined sounds, including Ram’s sisterlabel Program. However now they bring together their incredible skills individually as a collective, adding their music to the massive platform of Deen Pride’s Ignescent. The Russian imprint has proven its weight time and time again, continuing to do so with the four track EP which has been offered up by Focusfire. With Deen’s high-energy DJ sets helping to inject the live presence needed into the project, as well as Fascad’s expert craftmanship in the studio, they prove with their forthcoming EP that they’re a force to be reckoned with. The ‘Resolution’ EP will stand as a monumental part of their catalogue and it signals a blossoming career together as a duo.

The first track you’re introduced to from the EP is its title, ‘Resolution’. It’s exactly what you’d expect from a Focusfire record, unforgiving, meticulously built and with the type of slicing drums which drill through speaker stacks at any drum & bass night. ‘Akoazm’ follows next and its tightly fashioned grooves jump in and out of the mix, helped given more presence by its weighty kicks and blurts of atmospherics.

‘Spacelab’ is a fully immersive part of the track list, pulling you into the fray before it pushes you through its first breakdown, padded out by its melodic relays. As the horns kick in and you’re taken into a climatic drop, Focusfire step on the gas. ‘Basic Shapes’ finishes the collection and its just as progressive as its counterparts, with rolling bass notes adding a jagged edge to the cut as it kicks you into each frenzied patch of breaks.

Focusfire show you what they’re about with this next release and in doing so, they give you an insight into what they have in store for 2020. With Ignescent as a home, they’re sure to take tech-drum & bass to the next level.

We have brought back an artist who, for us has helped shaped the label with us. 

Not only for his amazing tracks and remixes released but for his help in the background and establishing the brand we have today.

Traced is back with a monster EP to round up his 2020 and has himself had an exceptional year releasing, adding to his already exceptional C.V. Of labels signing his tracks Trendkill, Red light, Kill Tomorrow, Close 2 Death, Cause 4 Concern & of course Dirtbox,

"The Phoenix"
The first of our 2 tracks is brand spanking hot, out of the Traced studio.

Something a little different than what you would expect, which is exactly why we love his sound so much. 

Huge trance sounds and uplifting riffs carry the intro of this track all the way from the start of the track and beyond and make no mistake It is not what you would expect from him as a  very floaty Liquid roller but with the Traced trademark snap you have all become accustomed too.

This track has huge amounts of inspiration we feel from the likes of Camo & Krooked and John B, who respectively are at the top of the heap in their defining sub genre’s.

A huge personal project for Traced which in his own words was a track written by him to help him through a trying period proving how music is a great healer and this no doubt will definitely bring in all kinds of emotion when either listening or playing to a packed out rave.

Strong words considering Traced's back catalogue of work, but we are sure after listening to this you will no doubt get why this was said.

This track has taken many forms over the past year and even from day one (despite sounding quite different now) has smashed dancefloors worldwide in sets.

The final version settled on has epic written all over it, 

The "Go with the flow" vocal, added in only recently before being sent out to promo to the DJ circuit, gives it exactly what it needs to stand out from the crowd.

This EP is by far the biggest of the year for us and a great way to close out 2020 as the first of the final 2 of the year

Pheonix / The System

With a return to their neurofunk roots, Essex based Druid Records returns with their 30th release and it is a special one. “Scout 22” heads up the EP with his original track “Cybernetic Synthetic”. A raw, dancefloor influenced track with relentless kicks and a pummelling wonky bassline with elements of sci-fi which is a key passion of the Artist that has featured on Program and Citrus Recordings.

On remix duties, they brought in Brazilian powerhouse producer “Dunk” formally part of the Jam Thieves. Fresh off his latest release on the mighty Dispatch LTD, Dunk truly showcases his sound that has caught the attention of many top labels in the scene and provided the artist with consistent releases all year long. The deep rolling track is a great take on the original and a perfect fit into Druids ever growing back catalogue.

Rounding off the EP, Druid have enlisted the neurofunk maestro “Barbarix”. The UK based producer has had releases on labels such as Renegade Hardware, C4C, Methlab and many more true innovative labels.
Bringing the funk back into Neurofunk, Barbarix drops a full throttle remix of the original letting the scene know he’s back in business and isn’t going anywhere. A heavy metallic snare punches through a groovy but gritty bassline and switching it into a bassline designed to cause absolute carnage.

With one more release left for the year, with a top vocalist, that is a bit different to the usual from the Essex imprint, this release is set to show Druid is back and setting their place back firmly within the scene we all love.
