Markantonio drops a new EP on his label AnalyticTrail, which features two peak time techno tracks from the iconic Italian artist.

With a career that spans over two decades, Markantonio is well-known for his many releases on labels including Pan-Pots Second State, Spartaques Codex and Carl Coxs Intec.

Along with releasing on many of technos most prestigious record labels, he has also inspired a next generation of artists who look to him music for inspiration. Markantonios home region of Naples is a breeding ground for fresh talent, and AnalyticTrail gave early releases to the likes of Joseph Capriati and Luigi Madonna.

Both of the tracks on this EP blend compelling synth lines with explosive percussion and fast-flowing rhythms.

The Moon Again opens the release with a pulsating bassline and metallic hi-hats, while the euphoric melody adds enthralling contrast to the dark atmosphere. Seven is the more aggressive of the two tracks, and takes no prisoners with its thrashing percussion layered over a pounding kick drum fused with dramatic bursts of melody.

Markantonio’s record label AnalyticTrail presents the first of its Black Series compilations, which showcases imprint's dark and raw side.

'Black Series I' features four peak time techno tracks by Beck And Rius, Jacopo Ghirardi and Black Synth (IT), plus one from Markantonio himself.

Based in the Naples region of Italy, Markantonio has been at the top of his country’s club scene for over two decades, and was one of the people who pioneered the genre in the now thriving local techno scene. His track "1990" gives a nod to '90s techno, and is in the dark and driving style he has previously showcased on labels ranging from Odd Recordings to Second State.

Beck And Rius are a German duo making their debut on AnalyticTrail following releases on other imprints such as Terminal M, Phobiq and Gain Records. Their stomping track "Mars Opposition" blends eerie synth textures with heavy percussion and a throbbing bassline.

Jacopo Ghirardi is from Turin, Italy and makes his debut on AnalyticTrail following music signed to The YellowHeads' Reload and Spartaque's IAMT. The sinister melodies and lurching chord changes of the tense pads combine perfectly with thrashing percussion in his track "Habitat".

Black Synth (IT) and Allexandra close out the release with their collaborative track "Remember", which blends an explosive kick drum with rippling acid tones, to deliver a slice of industrial techno with brutal energy. Allexandra is from Germany and she has previously worked with Black Synth (IT) on tracks released by DSR Digital.

With "VA - Outworld 001", the Berlin-based artist Klangkuenstler sets the tone for his new label 
venture of the same name, delivering a blueprint of techno that is futuristic in feel, yet firmly rooted 
in the analogue aesthetics of its heritage. In consequence, Outworld embodies a timelessness, 
which runs parallel to its mission statement – to take the listener deep into the outer realms and 
beyond.
Klangkuenstler's own stellar contribution, 'Supernova', is central to this essence, both in name and 
sound: the textured, high-velocity drum programming bursts with energy and propels the track 
forward relentlessly, while a transcendental synth dances amidst eerie pads and a squelching acid 
bass-line.
'The Evolution', by Manchester's Rudosa, also reaches for a higher sphere by way of a crystalline, 
ever-morphing lead that stretches towards infinity in its climax. Rumbling underneath, heavily 
pounding drums add balance, while acting equally hypnotic.
Hush & Sleep from Maastricht then conclude the odyssey with 'Nio', a muscular builder, consisting 
of dynamic cyber-strings looped endlessly above a fiercly galloping groove. As washes of white 
noise and hi-hats take off into space, it's evident that the EP ends with a third definition of one 
specific feeling: Outworld.

REMY-X made some serious waves last year when his debut was picked up by Amelie Lens, I Hate Models and Dax J, among others. It stayed in the charts for over a year and cemented his name firmly in the must-see list of many Techno fans. Judging by this debut on BFT, he has a lot more tricks up his sleeve. Already hammered by – again – Amelie and with remixes by fellow Coincidence crew Esther Duijn and Tom Hades, this EP should be well on its way to set some floors ablaze.
