Jack Mirror is a staple within the Viper Recordings camp, a producer and DJ who’s gone from newcomer to mainstay member following a string of high profile releases which have seen support amongst tastemakers such as UKF and BBC Radio 1. And now collaborating with Kove, an artist who’s paved himself a place within the annals of drum & bass. The producers combine two heavyweight production styles for a release under the Viper Recordings banner.

Kove is a familiar face on Viper and his return is marked by Jack Mirror, with the sonics of both combining for forthcoming single ‘Placebo’. An intro pulsating with thick subs, climbing step by step into a foreboding first breakdown and flipping kick drum sequences, the record drops into subterranean levels. Kove and Jack Mirror go for the jugular with this release, never allowing you up for air as you’re kept down in the deep reverberating bass of ‘Placebo’. Sometimes known for their more euphoric tracks, this upcoming cut offers the flip side of the pair’s darker production standard.

Viper Recordings add a moodier delivery for the lighter months but it’s the perfect accompaniment for late into a summer night in the dance. Jack Mirror and Kove are taking the lead with this, with ‘Placebo’ proving to be an exciting comeback for each producer.

Dirtyphonics have been part of the Rampage family for a long time, have premiered all their epic Liive shows at the event and in 2018 they dropped ‘Scorpion’ on the brand’s record label, one of very few drum&bass tracks they have done since they moved to the States 10 years ago. It was a heavy-hitting and very Pendulum-esque workout, albeit abundantly drenched in trademark Dirty darkness, and did big numbers on Beatport and Spotify. Fast forward a few years, and drum&bass is making waves Stateside and many dubstep acts are working on 174 beats and of course, the Dirties are ahead of the pack again. Before they bring out the new ammo, ‘Scorpion’ is getting the remix treatment from Wodd, another French artist on the rise, and now part of the infamous Kannibalen family, and sure shot dancefloor destroyer Tantrum Desire, attacking both dubstep and drum&bass raves.

A star of modern dancefloor music and a staple of the Viper roster, Blaine Stranger is certainly no stranger to drum & bass. With hit singles like “Dragon”, “Tension”, and “Sin” all being played out regularly by the likes of Sub Focus and with support from key tastemakers like UKF, there’s no denying the producer from Sydney certainly has a knack for writing catchy records. His latest single, “NEV3R”, is certainly no exception.

With a foreboding intro, Blaine Stranger teases his darker side as the track builds. Elegant melodies sweep over a catchy vocal loop, adding to the suspense leading up into the drop. Designed with the dancefloor in mind, “NEV3R” is sure to be a favourite this festival season, with bold synths and resounding basslines to boot.
