The last few years have been exceptional in terms of challenge and personal growth. I had never considered myself an artist and clung so very close to the entrepreneur identity. After leaving my most recent startup in July of 2021, I have decided to fully embrace a new persona, as a music producer and DJ, continuing to learn the industry, helping start a label, and planning the next phase of my life. The past year had also been hard. Love, friendships, and business evolved with time, life, and circumstance. At the time, I experienced it as depression, weakness, and feeling lost and ungrounded. But today, I can look back at those experiences with an appreciation for the lessons they taught, no matter how bitter the pill was. I've been sitting on this mix for almost 5 months, never feeling that it was finished. It's heavy, melancholic, and beautiful. And I finally feel good again, excited about the next steps and my next projects. I finally feel ready to release and move forward. I hope you all enjoy.

What a wild morning this was in the one and only Heinz Hopper <3 Thank you so so sooooo much to all of my incredible friends, my new and old mini fan club (hehe!), and everyone else who stayed dancing with me through this entire journey! Heute Nacht beginnt die Sommerzeit! Die Lücke der gemopsten Stunde könnte Schleichcast°38 wieder füllen, denn dieser Mix kommt mit so einer Bandbreite an Emotionen und Erzählungen daher, dass sich die darin enthaltenen 80 Minuten Musik irgendwie länger anfühlen. Kurzweilig und ausschweifend zugleich. Von spoken word über funky-Gude-Laune bis dark & bouncy, zwischendurch aber auch mal dreamy-melancholisch. Ein Potpourri an musikalischen Einflüssen mit vielen Vocals, in Einklang gebracht durch ausgefeilte Transitions und Spannungsbögen, die fast ein Hörbuch daraus machen. 

Wir freuen uns riesig, den lieben Eric aka Der Eva (@der_eva) von der tollen Slow Punchhh Crew als Teil unserer Serie dabei zu haben und schicken dich mit Schleichcast°38 nun auf eine musikalische Reise, die out of Genre-Boxes denkt. Happy listening!

>>Wer bist du und woher kommst du?
Ich bin Eric und komme aus Hamburg.

>>Wie kamst du zum Auflegen?
In meiner Jugend habe ich unterschiedliche Musikrichtungen wie z.B. Heavy Metal, Punk und auch HipHop gehört. Auf den Partys wollte natürlich jeder immer seine Mucke auflegen. Das war dann immer ein musikalisches Durcheinander.  Irgendwann habe ich mich immer mehr für elektronische Musik interessiert. Die Lust danach im Club aufzulegen, wurde daher gleichzeitig auch größer. Zusammen mit Til von Push und TISKO haben wir dann in der Astrastube in Hamburg die Partyreihe “Alle Lampen an” gegründet. Das waren die ersten Gigs. Hat mega Spaß gemacht!

>>Was hat dich für das Set inspiriert?
Das Set ist musikalisch sehr unterschiedlich. Melancholische, traurige, euphorische und minimale Tracks treffen aufeinander. So sind eigentlich die meisten meiner Sets. Ich mag es lieber abwechslungsreich. Besonders hervorheben möchte ich den Track “Blossom” von Andreas Balicki (@andreasbalicki), den ich seit mehreren Wochen immer wieder gerne höre.

>>Welcher Moment deines Künstlertums hat dich nachhaltig beeinflusst?
2019 haben mein Kumpel Jan 10ner (@10ner) und ich unser Label Slow Punchhh (@slowpunch) gegründet. Seit dieser Zeit habe ich viele unterschiedliche Künstler:innen kennengelernt. Der Kontakt ist immer wieder neu und spannend. Ungefähr ein Jahr später haben wir dann einen kleinen Raum zum Mucke machen im “Space Monkey Studio” bezogen. Dort teilen wir uns eine Etage u.a. mit den Muutes (@muutes), Andreas Balicki (@andreasbalicki), Difool (@difooljustdifool) und den Menschen vom Meeresrausch Festival (@meeresrausch / @meeronautenmusik). Diese Synergie hat mich musikalisch sehr positiv beeinflusst.

After our fifth unforgettable @nonsensecollective it was a pleasure to bring our merry band of revelers over to @sommosoundscapes for a fantastic night of fresh, delicious sushi and mouthwatering cocktails and mezcal.

The restaurant’s architecture and layout create a seductive ambiance, and I was happy to contribute (what I think was) a laid-back and sexy vibe on the dancefloor, which grew throughout the evening.  

This mix evolves from 79 BPM to finish with some classic rock edits at 108 BPM.

I rarely get to put together something like this in such a beautiful setting, so I hope you enjoy listening as much as we all did that night!
