Over the past few years, Pittsburgh-based producer, https://soundcloud.com/buku, has been steadily rising the ranks in the bass music scene, landing his unique originals and remixes on lowend-loving labels like Main Course and Never Say Die. With each release, Buku has exhibited a burgeoning repertoire of crazed synthesized sounds, and today, he’s laid them all on the table with the multifaceted, three-track 'Might Be EP'.

'Might Be' makes an immediate statement with a swarm of springy bass bounce pumping at 150BPM in the EP’s title track. The fiery momentum then carries on into the psychotic episode that is “Laugh Track” which acts as a testament to Buku’s fearlessness and bold use of samples in the studio. Finally, the EP phases out with the third production, “Freaknik” – a forceful track defined by its unique snare surges and polarized vocal pitches. 

The trio of diverse tracks find synergy in their potent dynamism, displaying a cohesive body of work from Buku that affirms his position amongst the next generation of bass producers.

FULL CYCLE is back. Roni Size and Krust collaborate to reform one of the most influential record labels in dance music. The first release in over 6 years since the label disbanded sees a re-working of an original record and title track Formulate. Backed up by weighty techno remix complete with heavy jungle influence from rising production force Hodgson. The EP package will also see a re-mastered version and first time full digital release of the classic Snapshot. To finish it off Swindle turns his hand to the original classic and kills it with his reimagining.

Musicians will know. Music lovers might not be aware just how many songs/tracks/ideas we write, record, master that in the end .. just never come out.

Sometimes it’s timing, sometimes i write something that the producer doesn’t like. Sometimes something gets remixed that i don’t like. Sometimes the label delays it. Sometimes the label changes it’s mind. Sometimes there is no label!

That’s why i decided to start N.C.O – ‘Never Came Out.’ This will be a monthly soundcloud release from me of a track that never came out. For all of the reasons above and more.

Some will be downloadable, some won’t. Some i remember the producers, some i don’t (With respect.)

Hopefully some of you will enjoy these gone, but not forgotten, N.C.O’s!!
