Their band name, "rawi" translates to the word "storyteller" in Arabic as they use their music to educate audiences about the root of traditional Malay music through their fusion of multi instruments and lyrics.

Sang.Rawi was born in Kuching, Sarawak since 2014. Before, in the first album, they focus on bringing a "Folk Nusantara" song. And wow they are focus on bringing a combination of experimental nusantara and psychedelic rock with postmodernism in their new album; Malayan New Order.
