It is featured on "Feminine Medicine Vol. 1".

About Feminine Medicine™
The Feminine Medicine™ project is a series of collaborative albums and stage shows I launched in 2015. Every song on the album is a collaboration between me and another female artist. 

I set out to bring music to the dance floor that showcases the "feminine" aspect through many expressions and faces of the feminine. The music expresses a harmony of both masculine and feminine frequencies that is both danceable and sacred co-created with some of my favorite female artists. I believe this music shows how "feminine" melodic textures and vocals can integrate with traditionally "masculine" bass frequencies to create songs that are harmonically transcendent of any existing genre.   

I have been writing, producing and performing the Feminine Medicine™ music for the last 5 years, collaborating with over 30 female musicians, vocalists, and dancers to showcase stage shows at major festivals including Lucidity Festival, Beloved Festival, and Enchanted Forest Festival. 

Artists showcased on Feminine Medicine™ music so far include: 
Heather Christie, Imagika Om, Liquid Love Drops, Ixchel Prisma, Eden Amadora, Amma Li Grace of Entheo, Tara Divina. 

Volume 1 was released Feb 2017. A remix album was released in 2018 featuring remixes from Govinda, Living Light, Luke Mandala, Ra So, Spoken Bird, Wu Wei, Joe Muscatello, and Pattern Disrupt.

Embarking on their second collaborative endeavor, the Italian beat makers and multi- instrumentalists, Halfred and Lo.Renzo further solidify their close working relationship with their first EP as Jakare. Released on Desert Trax, Jakare’s ‘Apu’ EP is the culmination of all that’s dear about both artists’ creative vision, blending intricate technical design with melodic tenderness and biophilic atmospherics. The artists’ choice to pursue these new avenues of shamanic downtempo music reflects their willingness to start afresh under a new alias and pursue experimentation without the pre- conceived associations with their solo projects. 

In the course of four songs, the duo paint a truly vivid picture of ancient life in nature and taking inspiration from different modern cultures; from the slight nod to the bluesy Latin American marshes of ‘Cleansing’, Andean flavors on ‘Glass Temple’, the instrumental grooves of ‘GloBall’ and aquatic night time swims in ‘Moon Howl’, the EP stays consistent in its overall aesthetic and harmoniousness throughout. The duo utilize charango, classic guitars, electric guitar, pan flute, shakers, percussions to bring the organic sound, while relying on their masterful sound design techniques to develop cinematic field-recording- based atmospherics.

Jakare - Moon Howl. Exclusive Preview from Desert Trax

The chorus of this song is sung by Tzutu Kan (a balam ajpu member), one of the teachers at Solar Sound, who is an indigenous Tz’utujil Mayan hip hop artist from Lake Atitlan, Guatemala. In the song, he is saying the names of all the indigenous tribes of Costa Rica, to call them in, honor them, thank them, and connect with them:

Tzutu’s Verse: Chorotegas Cabécares, Bribris, Ngäbe, Térrabas, Borucas, Huetares, Malekus, Kin siq'ij li a b'i iwonojel.

We have decided that all funds raised from the sales of this song will go to Tzutu’s non-profit organization which teaches music, art, and language revitalization to indigenous Mayan children in his homeland.  


A note on the School of Mayan Hip Hop:
“Within the “Caza Ajaw.” School, elements of Hip Hop are reconfigured to create
alignment between Hip-Hop culture and Mayan culture. Caza Ajaw teaches Hip-Hop as
having three elements (Rap, Painting and Music) corresponding to the three stones
traditionally used to make a hearth (or xkub’) in Mayan culture. The use of the xkub’
hearthstones recontextualizes the elements of Hip-Hop from a specifically Maya
perspective. The songs taught in the school reflect the goals of language revitalization within the Maya Movement – encouraging children to use the language among themselves, the use of
Mayan languages in new domains, and an emphasis on the connection between language
use and cultural knowledge.”
