Coming off of a very long tour, I found myself wanting to switch things up. So I started doing live improvisation where no part of the set was prewritten except for some vocal samples at the beginning of each song. This recording is the from the first time i attempted this, I have vastly improved "EarthCry Live" since this recording, but I thought everyone would enjoy listening to the rawness of the very first time ;)

I met Katie via a friend and we only knew each others music from afar. We wrote a few emails and I sent her the music. Katie’s voice is unmistakable and to work with her was an honor. When I got the vocals back from her, I was blown away.

A truly epic night to say the least! An amazing crowd and incredible vibes. The only thing I prepared for this show were a collection of sequences and drum patterns from my sequencer. All voices, drum kits, modular patches, effects, etc were all created on the spot.

Where's my Cellphone?

This is one of the few remixes I've done over the years.  I made this after a trip to Maui when I first fell in love with this track by Brenda Fassie.  Brenda passed away on May 9 2004 at the age of 39.  She remains one of the greatest voices of South African music.   My remix makes the most sense at about 6am on a huge soundsystem in the tropics.
