Delicious Vinyl brings you Sunset Blvd, the new album from Yancey Boys, the group piloted by John “Illa J” Yancey and Frank Nitt. The dynamic new collection is built around previously unheard tracks created by Illa J’s brother: the late, great J Dilla (James Yancey). With Frank Nitt’s standing as J Dilla Music Catalog Curator and the official approval of Yancey Media Group, all productions on Sunset Blvd originate from The Lost Scrolls — the stunning cache of beats Dilla left behind.

With its rapturous single “Quicksand” featuring Common, Sunset Blvd also teams Yancey Boys with De La Soul’s Posdnuos (“Beautiful”), The Pharcyde’s SlimKid3 (“Rock My World”), and T3 of Slum Village (“Jeep Volume”), making it clear that the Dilla legacy is being represented by those who knew and collaborated with Dilla in his lifetime. Additional guests on Sunset Blvd include DJs Rhettmatic, C-Minus, and JRocc (Beat Junkies) as well as rap roughneck Guilty Simpson and R&B strongman Eric Roberson. “We’ve created an album that would make Dilla proud,” says Frank Nitt, who grew up with Dilla in Detroit. “But this isn’t a nostalgia trip: Dilla’s beats were so future-forward that they’re right on time in 2013, and we’ve assembled the best artists possible to represent that.”

After almost a dozen releases on vinyl, mixtape, cassette and online in Sweden and Japan, live shows in the US and Europe as well as one of the year's most popular music videos, it's now time for Trainspotters debut album. George Kaplan &amp; Rewind (born 1988 and 1986) also chooses, together with their label Random Bastards, to release it for free online.

Dirty North consists of 10 tracks, all produced by Alexander Juneblad - also known as Academics. The producer and musician (born 1989) is behind most of Trainspotters tracks and has also joined the group on tour. He was given total musicial freedom from the intro Arrival to the outro Departure, resulting in a uniform, futuristic and - last but not least - Northern sound.

Rappers George Kaplan &amp; Rewind takes the listener on a journey through dirty city streets to snowmobiles on the mountains, via Stockholm and Barcelona. Featuring guest artists Kastaway from Chicago and Eboi from Respect My Hustle gives their stories while praised singer That Dude Prince and Umeå's hip hop queen Cleo handles the topics boundlessness and motivation.

Dirty North is nothing else but Swedish hip hop in the year 2010. Welcome!

Trainspotters has accomplished a lot but also barley started. Just like the duo’s collective and label Random Bastards, the group was formed naturally through skateboarding, living in northern Sweden and interest for the graffiti culture. After a dozen independent releases on limited cassettes, 12-inches, Japan vinyls and burned CD mixtapes, Ricky Rewind and George Kaplan’s debut LP landed 2010.

“Dirty North” was nominated for “Hiphop/soul of the year” by P3 Guld (Sweden’s biggest and most recognized music award, broadcasted live on national radio and TV), the single Fan First for “Music video of the year” by the Whoa staff (Sweden’s biggest hip hop site) and Random Bastards for “Entrepreneurs of the year” at Transition Winter Awards. In interviews with fabled Mats Nileskär (P3 Soul) and Scandinavia’s largest hip hop print Kingsize Magazine the group has portrayed their dirty north part of Sweden more detailed.

On New Year’s Day 2013, “Bastards!” – entirely produced by Alexander “Academics” Juneblad – was released. This album is also a journey that, across ten tracks, musically describes the feeling from dropping in to landing a trick and cruise on – with all of its aspects and nuances. Beats, rap and scratch are the setup and throughout the record the listener gets to know Trainspotters closer.

Presistent touring in all Scandinavian countries, the European continent, North America as well as Sweden (including the biggest festival Peace & Love, Stockholm National Arena and celebrated Umeå Jazz Festival) with bands such as Glesbygd’n, Spiderdogs and Cleo has given Trainspotters loads of live experience and added a crazy touch to the shows. With Chefen on the turntables (300+ DJ shows) and backed by Random Bastards Soundsystem and the chaos that comes with it – a stage dive is never far away.

A loyal and growing bunch of bastards today represents merchandise and stickers all over the globe, while views on YouTube and plays on Spotify are counted in millions. In 2013, we’re welcoming everybody to enjoy new music videos, a live vinyl from legendary Scharinska, instrumental LP, new clothing collections, merchandise collaborations as well as a cross-continental summer tour.

“Bastards!” was released by Random Bastards on Spotify and free mp3 on January 1, 2013.
