Joumana est une des artistes émergentes les plus reconnues de la scène de musique électronique montréalaise. Originaire du Liban, elle se forme dans la musique au chant et au piano depuis l’enfance. Elle découvre le magnétisme de la musique électronique en 2016 et s’y dévoue avec passion et persévérance, ce qui l’amènera à jouer dans les salles et événements clés de Montréal : Stereo, Velvet Speakeasy, Piknic Électronik, PY1, et le festival AIM. 
Son énergie lumineuse derrière les platines est contagieuse; ses sets captivants immergent le public dans des sons et cultures du monde entier.

Dans le cadre du mois de la sensibilisation à la fibrose kystique, elle répond à nos questions sur la cause!

Question 1 // Pour plusieurs, cet événement a été une nouvelle expérience de jumeler le yoga et la pratique méditative avec la création en musique électronique dun DJ set. Quel défi a représenté cette expérience dans ton processus créatif ? Était-ce la première fois que tu enregistrais un set de la force ? Peux-tu nous parler d’où tu as trouvé l’inspiration ? 

Je dirais que le plus grand défi était d'enregistrer un mix spécifiquement pour un cours de yoga. Je tenais vraiment à ce que ça "fit" avec le style de Vicki (Viyoga). D'habitude, quand je prépare des mix, je pense à une ambiance, un mood général que chaque personne interprète ensuite à sa façon. J'ai apprécié ce défi car j'ai pu joué plusieurs chansons que je n'avais pas encore eu l'opportunité de jouer et expérimenter avec un bpm plus lent.  
J'ai pensé que ce serait bien de créer un set "méditatif".

Question 2 // L’organisation FK en Musique souffle sa première bougie cette année. Par des activités de sensibilisation et des événements musicaux, nous arrivons à faire connaître la maladie de la fibrose kystique à la scène électronique à Montréal. Qu’est-ce qui t’a donné envie de participer à l’événement YOGAMUSIQUE ? Quel est ton lien ou ta motivation envers la cause ? 

J'ai entendu parler de la fibrose kystique à travers les événements de musique de Sound of CF. J'ai été moi-même sensibilisée à la cause grâce à ces événements et je tenais à participer à la sensibilisation à mon tour à travers la musique. Merci Gabby pour l'invitation !

His deep and dubby take harnessed punchy minimal house structure under blissful melodics, showcasing his Miami-bred sound. Luis hops on the decks for Selectors, perusing through hypnotic jams - groovy from start to finish.
