I used Ardour, Surge, Vitalium, LSP Multisampler, a bunch of Airwindows plugins  - big shoutout to Chris! , General MIDI Synth when creating this song. 

It is a song that i dedicated to sand football - a sport I invented. It was not originally intended to be about sand football.

In the first phase, the teams build a castle out of sand.

In the second phase, players from the other team shoot the castle with a ball or dig into the castle with it. It is possible to block other players.

The third phase is same as the second one, but it is not allowed to block other players.

In the fourth phase, a miniexcavator comes into the game and the teams compete to gain control of the miniexcavator.

In the fifth phase, nobody knows what happens.

The goal is to steal flag from the other base.

Im currently in the process of getting more fun and passion out of making music. This desire seems to manifest as weird sound design experiments. In this case, most exciting was when I discovered Odin2´s ring modulation.

A remix medley of the anthem my high school used, which us students memed on quite a lot. If that sounds weird and random, it's because it is. This is definitely the most out-of-control joke I've ever allowed to take over 90 hours of my life. I dedicate this to my pals from high school, some of us still keep in touch. You know who you are :)

I made this almost entirely in Reaper, and it was my first ever experience with Reaper. It seems nice, though probably not nice enough to outweigh the fact that it's closed source and proprietary. I'll definitely try going back to Ardour next time.

As far as instruments go, I've used Helm and ZynFusion for electronic leads and chip effects, a few LMMS plugins for chip drums and noise, and quite a few free SFZs taken from www.zanderjaz.com/downloads/soundfonts/ - credit for the rock drum kit, bass guitar, saxophone, trumpet, congas and possibly more goes to Zanderjaz and collaborating musicians.

Oh, but the final flute sample was extracted from a recording by my good friend. Unbeknownst to them. Knowing you, you're probably reading this, thanks for the final ounce of inspiration.

All the credit for the epic leads goes to my handy Alesis V25 MKII, this has been my first time using a MIDI keyboard for a "serious project" and as a pianist I can confidently say that having keys under my fingers instead of drag&dropping notes onto a timeline has made music production infinitely more satisfying. Oh, and drum pads. Hell^yeah.

This is my first project to ever use other people's samples as opposed to synthesizing everything on my own, and I'm quite pleased with the variety of sounds that opened up to me, although I'll still stay loyal to synthesizers, because samples feel sort of... cheap to use. Unless you preprocess them heavily, which I didn't really. Anyways, it's been a learning experience and I'm glad I have done it.

FOR THE RECORD the original music file for this track is deliberately sitting at 8:08.888. I couldn't preserve that because of padding, but just imagine it's there in your heart.
