We had dedicated our first Artist-Mix to Vybz Kartel, one of the most talented and controversial dancehall artists of the recent years. With the second mix, we had a focus on the upcoming singer-talents, the Rising Stars Chris Martin & Romain Virgo. The mix was featured in the current issue of the german RIDDIM magazine. With our third artist-mix we would like to present two of the most unique voices of Jamaica: Beres Hammond & Buju Banton. Although they are vocally as far apart as Hamburg and Kingston, there are hardly two artists that are such a perfect fit.

The Voices Of Jamaica [Beres Hammond & Buju Banton]

An arrangement I made a few months back of "Married Life" from Disney Pixar's 'Up', composed by Michael Giacchino.  I had heaps of fun making this, especially in deciding which instruments to use each time the main theme is reintroduced.  And to all those who haven't yet watched the movie, get on it!  It'll make you laugh (and cry) and it's definitely not one to miss! Enjoy :)

«Earth Angel (Will You Be Mine)» es una de las más afamadas y representativas canciones de estilo de armonía vocal estadounidense conocido popularmente como doo wop.1 Interpretada originariamente por The Penguins en 1954 bajo el sello Doctone, al igual que «Hey, Señorita», se convirtió en el mayor éxito del grupo The Crew-Cuts, quienes la versionaron en 1955 alcanzando la lista de ventas el 29 de enero de ese mismo año. Asimismo, el éxito alcanzó el tercer puesto de la lista Disc Jockey Chart y el octavo en las listas Best Seller y Juke Box Chart.

La primera grabación del tema tuvo lugar en el estudio que Ted Brinson tenía en su garaje de Los Ángeles, junto al productor Dootsie Williams.2 Earth Angel rápidamente pasó por delante de la cara A en cuanto a popularidad y alcanzó el número 1 de la lista manteniéndose durante tres semanas al inicio de 1955, también fue octavo en la lista de Pop.3 Se han realizado varios covers desde entonces, la balada resultó que podía ser el único hit del grupo del Top 40.

Earth Angel alcanzó el puesto 151 de las lista de Rolling Stone de las 500 mejores canciones de todos los tiempos en la revista Rolling Stone. En 2004, fue una de las 50 grabaciones escogidas por Biblioteca del Congreso en ser añadida al Registro Nacional de grabaciones. La interpretación de The Pinguins está considerada por muchos como "el abuelo del Rock n Roll" [cita requerida] desde que fuera una de las primeras grabaciones que se podrían describir como Rock al hit nacional del listado de música pop.
