California’s LIGHTLEAK has been steadily laying a foundation via his slick blend of Minimal and Deep Tech sonics. After catching the attention of tastemakers like Prunk, Sidney Charles, and Rossi., he made the bold move across the globe to immerse himself in the European electronic scene. Studying the craft and hitting the ground running, LIGHTLEAK clocked over 100 gigs in his debut year alone, bringing his infectious energy to dancefloors across the Dutch capital and beyond. Now, back on home turf, he steps up for his first release on Hottrax with the punchy ‘Shelter’ EP—a three-track package of stripped-back grooves and undeniable dancefloor heat already receiving support from the likes of Carlita and more. 

“Man, I can’t really explain how good it feels to release an EP on one of my dream labels. Jamie Jones has been a staple in the game and has pushed the sound I love to places I’m really proud to see. I had the pleasure of attending his Paradise party in Ibiza last year, and now I feel one step closer to playing one myself. ‘Shelter (Funky Heroes)’ brings high-energy house heat from the jump, layering classic bounce with tight, contemporary energy and vibrant, soulful vocals. ‘Memphis’ steps in next with a rolling, groove-heavy rhythm, peppered with snappy drums and hooky vocal loops, before ‘Hamburg’ delves deep with booming kicks and glossy synth work, signing off the EP with a final statement of intent.

A familiar face across both Hottrax and Hot Creations, Italian DJ/producer Paul C steps back into the fold this summer with a sharp two-track release that taps into his roots while staying focused on the energy of modern dancefloors. Marking his third appearance on Hottrax and second solo EP for the label, ‘I’m Ready You Ready’ brings together rolling rhythms and classic influences with a modern, high-impact edge.

“I’m proud to return with a new release on Hottrax, part of the Jamie Jones universe I've had the pleasure of being involved with over the years. This EP features two tracks with a similar style but different vibes. The first track, ‘I’m Ready You Ready’, is a tribute to the '90s house sound that made me fall in love with clubbing, but with a more energetic and modern groove. The second, ‘In The Back’, also draws from that old school vibe, but explores a more club-oriented side of it. I'm really happy with the energy these two tracks carry, and I hope they’ll transmit the same feeling to you as they did to me in the studio.” - Paul C.

Known for his groove-heavy sound, Paul C’s studio work has appeared on a host of influential imprints, extending beyond his releases via Jones’ labels to imprints such as Elrow, Moon Harbour, and Knee Deep In Sound. With his tracks regularly in rotation for names like Marco Carola, Carl Cox, and Luciano, this latest EP sees him keep things moving in style as he delivers two distinct takes on the sounds that shaped his early journey, now reimagined for today’s clubs.
