Guiding weary travelers through an enchanting interdimensional odyssey, WTP’s debut long player ‘Like Lava’ finds a treasured home on Companion. Building on the foundation of four exceptional self-released EPs, WTP continues his exploration into the world of ambient trance. ‘Like Lava’ unfolds across nine tracks that expand and contract through imagined astral landscapes, showcasing WTP’s deft ability to create deep and absorbing techno trips. Hypnotic in manifold ways, ‘Like Lava’ is a release made for getting lost in. Each track referencing the next, this hour-long journey glides through blissful realms of trance, ambient techno and house - deep basslines, muted breaks and spacious subdued percussion are unified by WTP’s characteristic ubiquitous and sparkling atmospheres. 

This is an expert expression of the Companion ethos. By drawing inspiration from the likes of Robert Leiner, Speedy J and Index ID, WTP wields the language of tripped out 90s electronica to allow spellbound listeners the time to contemplate, space to travel and a place to dream

pi pi pi premiere: WTP - Horizon (Companion)

We're celebrating the legendary imprint Night Slugs' 15th anniversary this month on our mix series! Founded by Alex Sushon (Bok Bok) and James Connolly (L-Vis 1990), Night Slugs was initially launched as a club night series after Alex and James met on Myspace in 2008, expanding into a record label in 2010. From then, Night Slugs quickly became one of the distinctive dance music labels of the 2010s as they pushed a hybrid of grime, house, electro, R&B, hip hop and dubstep. With a lasting influence across the globe to this day, the label released career defining releases from the likes of Jam City, Girl Unit, Mosca, Jacques Greene, Lil Silva and more. To celebrate their 15th anniversary, Night Slugs have pulled together the 'Classic Remixed' compilation which fuses the label's past, present and future with artists taking on remixes of the label's classics. These remixers include Night Slugs family Ikonika, Helix, CalvoMusic & OSSX, as well as many of the labels peers and next-gen favourites including Grandmixxer, Bored Lord, MoMa Ready, Hagan, Karen Nyame KG, River Moon, DJ Polo & NKC, DJ Lag, scotti dee and more.

Next up in the takeover we have the legend, Bok Bok, who brings us “an hour of non-stop momentum with funky/deep house, gqom and rolling London sounds in the mix & blend”. Aside from being one of the co-founders Night Slugs party and record label, Bok Bok is an esteemed producer and engineer in their own right who has released a slew of knockout solo releases, contributed to compilations for Manara and PDA, mastered records for the likes of FAUZIA and launched their own label AP Life in 2021 as a nod to the DJ and dubplate culture they grew up on. They're also a longstanding resident on Rinse FM.

Rotterdam-based label Feed The Void prepare to release 'Revving' EP from Naarm-based producer Desinformant. Co-produced by Melbourne-based producer Hedchef, 'The Perennial Question' is our pick. Kicking off with thunderous echoes, the track quickly descends into a flurry of LFO-drenched basslines, infectious breakbeats, and flagitious whispers.

Legalize Lambada is back and there ain’t no moldy gorgonzola in this Italo homage!

Legendary cosmic captain Albion returns to Lambada-land and starts this edit compilation with “Nucleare”, a robotic jam seasoned with Italian vocals which serves as a great introduction. 
  
Ric Piccolo’s “Disco teacher” on A2 and “Alright” on B1 are serious floor fillers, possibly ready to injure part of the Boston dynamics fleet after inducing uncontrollable dance moves.

At the end it’s Hysteric’s “Moment” on B2 that prompts a soulful side of italo for some deep machine learning.
