Blood Flowers is a heavy duty 4 tracker for the freaks. electro, dungeon techno, slinky acid and tribal excursion - properly damaged party starters for lowlight dreams and nightmares. Over the last 10 years, Mule Driver has been making special 808 day releases. This latest set is his most convincing effort to date, jumping from idea to idea but retaining a solid guideline of sci-fi weirdness and collapsing body movements.

on Unnamed War, maddening backward sounds are backed by a jumpy bass line and a heavy electro beat. Blood Flowers brings the hot middle eastern desert wind over tribal war rhythms, covering the poor drummers with burning sand. Those lost souls keep wandering aimlessly over a rumbling bassline in the Tunnels of track 3. Naqoura, the closing track, brings a hazardous grinding feedback, pounding bass drum and sword-like cymbals, topped with Fata-Morgana-synth-sounds that flicker a glimpse of hope.

“Madness Reigned” 2021: the world is a hellhole – pandemic, isolation, social unrest.
Opener “Overvolt” is a full-on industrial assault, a high-voltage plasma gun warfare! Metallic bass, sharp precision hammer beat and pulse stabs take control of your brain.
Sci-fi inspired “The Harvest Room” is dominated by a distorted groovy bass riff, acidic lead and heavy percussion. Midway it changes direction and teleports you into EBM/goth-synth territory!
“Infected Memory” is a surprising MANASYt track and that’s a good thing! Dominated by a syncopated lead and bubbling bass, this is a dark catchy darkwavy number, complete with Bulgarian vocals.
On the flip, “N7” is a horror soundtrack interlude, sinister and paranoid. It is reminiscent of his work as Sam Lowry.
“Tales Of Ignorance” is a classic MANASYt electro stomper, originally written in 2007, here with an updated sound! Solid bassline, macabre strings and clinical arpeggios transport you into a dark hopeless place!
The 7 minute closer is a brilliant and atmospheric, industrial machine-funk remix of “Tales Of Ignorance” by the Spanish duo Telephasycx!, who are responsible for releasing this EP!

“Madness Reigned” takes you on a hypnotic journey to a futuristic dystopian world, blasting this 6 track record as loud as possible is highly recommended!

Exactly one year after his 2020 release entitled Dunklewissenschaft, DVS NME returns with a collection of new tracks that were produced between late 2020 and early 2021. This 25-track album is another obvious thematic tribute, only this time he chose to pay homage to the writing of the socialist revolutionary Karl Marx. Every song title is a nod to the German philosopher's economic and political theory. Even the album cover borrows directly from Marx, re-adapting the original cover of the 1848 pamphlet entitled 'The Communist Manifesto'.

This album, as with the last, relies heavily on the sounds of classic Electro machines like Mono/Poly, MS-20, SH-101, Jupiter-8, Juno-106, SH-2, System 100, Juno 60, JX-3P, TB-303, Polysix, TR-606, OB-8, TR-808, ARP Odyssey, as well as some contemporary additions to his studio like Hydrasynth, System 8, Novation Peak, Minilogue, SE-02, and Microkorg.

DVS NME is the man behind the weekly radio show/daily blog called 'Dark Science Electro' and has been a dedicated contributor to the Electro community for the last 11 years. He shares his love of Electro music by posting Electro-affiliated news, art, mixes, albums, memes, concerts, tracks, gear, and more. This album is available for $15 USD.

Liège-based Gravitational Effect excels with a dazzling new electro EP to mark the Reposition Record label's third fantastic release, while scene mainstay Radioactive Man offers up one of his signature remixes.

 

Gravitational Effect is a fast-rising new artist who impressed with his first outing on Planet Tapes. It showcased a love of 80s electro boogie and club-ready funk and here the artist pays tribute to electro’s intergalactic appeal whilst adding his own euphoric and mind-bending spin.

 

First up is the high-speed ‘Forbidden Planet' with its coruscated bass, bustling drum patterns and skewed lead synths all set to blow up the dance floor. 'Unknown Frontliner' takes a deeper approach, with mystic chords hovering in the air over a crisp electro beat with rubbery bass reverberating way down low. It's a track full of intrigue, while 'Base Control' is the most hard-edged cut of the EP. The gurgling bass and smeared pads are powered along by a turbo-charged electro rhythm that never lets up.

 

Radioactive Man is an electro kingpin who endlessly explores every niche the genre has to offer. He has a sizeable discography that takes in countless EP’s, LP’s and remixes on the most influential labels, and most recently he has unveiled his own 10” series Sonicus Croniclus on Asking For Trouble. His fantastic remix of 'Base Control' experiments with the original's central synth pattern. He pitches it down alongside more spaced-out production and the result is a mesmeric and psychedelic seven-minute masterpiece.

 

With this EP, Gravitational Effect proves himself adept at sequencing ever-evolving synths, playful melodies finely-programmed drum patterns.
