When you’re the wife of one of Christian Hip Hop’s most unconventional artists it is extremely important to find your own niche in order to avoid falling into the background. If you’ve ever met Trinidad Hermida-Owens, better known as Trini, then you know that she is certainly not the behind the scenes type of woman. When the young lady who describes herself as the “GlobalxDiva” walks into a room, her presence and energy are immediately felt.

Although she was born in New York, Trini was reared in a small church in Castroville, California giving her life to Christ at a young age. It was through a mutual friend that Trini would be introduced to Ernest Owens aka AppleJaxx one faithful day. The two exchanged long distance communication before meeting in North Carolina in 2005 and eventually exchanged wedding vows in November of 2006.

Although she considers herself a true worshipper, Trini chooses to express herself musically via more genres than most people have on their iPods. While being influenced sonically by artists from Stacie Orrico to the Gospel Gangsters, Trini chooses to convey the Gospel message through styles including Hip Hop, Traditional Gospel, Dub-Step, Pop and R&B. With this fusion of styles and inspirations, it is Trini’s desire is to push the envelope of how a Christian woman should and can sound. “I make music because I believe that God has blessed me with the gifts and tools to use this medium to send out a clear message about what God has done for me and will do for everyone else. My story consists of a myriad of ups and downs and the one thing that has been constant for me is Christ’s love and faithfulness. I want to spread that love to the world.”

Outside of music, Trini has completed studies for her Master’s Degree in Urban Ministry at Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary. She is also highly sought after for her graphic designs, photography, cosmetology, life coaching, administration and organizational development skills. As one of Fadacy Music’s premier talents and the creative mind behind much of its operations, the GlobalXDiva is truly a force to be reckoned with. It’s said behind every great man is a great woman but AppleJaxx and Trini stand side by side.
