ENABLER’s deadly revamped lineup has completed, and is preparing to release the band's anticipated second full-length, La Fin Absolue Du Monde. Translated from French to signify “the absolute end of the world,” the title of the new album is yet another of the band’s works inspired by filmmaker John Carpenter, in this case in referencing his movie, Cigarette Burns. La Fin Absolue Du Monde was tracked with Shane Hotchstetler at Howl Street Recordings in Milwaukee (Expire, Northless) and mixed by Steve Austin (Today Is The Day) at his Austin Enterprises, and packs the band’s most diverse material to date into a thirty-six minute battering with fourteen tracks.

Over the past two years, ENABLER has followed their All Hail The Void LP with widespread touring of North America, Europe and Australia, and unloaded their Shift Of Redemption EP via Think Fast! Records and Flies EP via The Compound, both in 2013. The band’s first full-time drummer since the departure of Fall Out Boy’s Andy Hurley in 2012 is now realized with Ryan Steigerwald (The Ox King, Ringworm live/fill-in drummer) who joins bassist/vocalist Amanda Daniels and founding guitarist/vocalist Jeff Johrber.

ENABLER has partnered with several close allies to wage this new battle in a collaborative strike. Proudly going to war as part of the La Fin Absolue Du Monde campaign are San Francisco-based Creator-Destructor Records as well as NYC-area-based The Compound. Creator-Destructor has released titles from The Funeral Pyre, Gypsyhawk, Heartsounds, VYGR and others in addition to the vinyl version of ENABLER’s 2012 debut LP, All Hail The Void, which came out on CD and digital platforms via Southern Lord. The Compound, the label faction of media/PR faction, The Earsplit Compound, unleashed ENABLER’s rabid 2013 Flies EP and is currently unloading physical versions of new releases from Godhunter, Cop Problem, Die Choking and others. La Fin Absolue Du Monde will see killer deluxe CD and vinyl pressings and will see North American release on May 27th, just one day after ENABLER marks their debut invasion of the annual Maryland Deathfest.

Formed in early 2013, FUNERARY came to pass by the adherence of five souls looking to coagulate in depression, grief, and anger.  Finding solace in dwindling light, the band creates a musical presence that is powerful and progressive in the realm of doom metal by combining what can only be described as cosmic, transcending songs ridden with despair and indignity. They pull listeners outside of their physical being with this bleak, barren songwriting accompanied with segues of sheer tranquility and peace. With eyes set upon the starry horizon, the band carries forward on a journey of enlightenment and excellence with touring, festival and recording plans already in motion.

Having played alongside bands such as Samothrace, Lycus, Ash Borer, Hell, Amarok, SubRosa, and many others, FUNERARY have distinguished themselves unique among colleagues and audiences alike. Drafted in 2013 for the first iteration of Midnite Communion as well as Southwest Terror Fest II, the band is continued to be met with offers prior to even releasing their debut album Starless Aeon. Set for a late Summer release on tape via Midnite Concoctions, the band will be touring into Oakland's Deadfest where they will spend a weekend recording a new single with Greg Wilkinson (Earhammer Studios).

01 Coerced Creation

 Vancouver's Baptists share the first new track from their upcoming second album, Bloodmines, which is due for release via Southern Lord on 14th October.
  Arriving at the album's mid point, 'Harm Induction' is a volatile, high speed, turbo-charged rager. As the guitar riffs scale to an ear-splitting climax, the vocals also reach the peak of absolute seething anger. Harm Induction is unrelenting, near suffocating, and highly cathartic.

   Like it's predecessor, Bloodmines is a fast, exhilarating album of rage, oozing with genuine raw emotion and punk rock fury. Shards of feedback make way for fast powerful riffs and savage vocals, whilst explosive drumming pumps blood around the band's beating heart.

   On other album tracks like "Vistas", "Calling" and the title track, "Bloodmines", the pace changes, revealing powerful, almost anthemic, jagged noise rock songs (much like influential San Diego post-hardcore band Drive Like Jehu) which go beyond the two minute mark. Discordant guitar melodies and abrasive vocal passages are elongated, still volatile but perhaps allowing for further contemplation of the band's underlying message.


Baptists - Harm Induction

Vancouver's BAPTISTS is preparing to release their second album, Bloodmines, the platter due for release via Southern Lord in North America on October 14th. Like its predecessor, BAPTISTS’ acclaimed Bushcraft debut LP, Bloodmines is an exhilarating album pouring with genuine, raw emotion and frenzied punk fury. Shards of feedback make way for rapid riffs and savage vocals, with explosive drumming surging life into every second of each movement. On tracks like "Vistas", "Calling" and the title track, "Bloodmines," the pace changes, revealing powerful, melodic and jagged noise rock songs, much like influential San Diego post-hardcore band Drive Like Jehu, which go beyond the two minute mark. Discordant guitar melodies and abrasive vocal passages are elongated, still volatile but perhaps allowing for further contemplation of the band's underlying message.

BAPTISTS continue to find ways to express their rage and explore new turf with each release, and with Bloodmines they have created a memorable and commanding album. The album was recorded and mixed by Kurt Ballou at God City Studios as with Bushcraft. The cover art was designed by Jillian Mann.

BAPTISTS will take to the North American West Coast this October on a Southern Lord tour package also including labelmates Torch Runner and Obliterations for the entire trek, as well as Offenders on select dates. As part of the routing, BAPTISTS will take part in the massive Southern Lord showcase taking place in Los Angeles, California on October 15th alongside Goatsnake, The Offenders and Xibalba in addition to Torch Runner and Obliterations. All three bands will then raid Southwest Terror Fest III: The Western Front, set to take place October 16th-19th in Tucson, Arizona, where BAPTISTS are set to perform on the main stage the final evening of the gathering with SUNN O))), Obliterations and Sex Prisoner.

In a recent exclusive stream of "Decedents", the second track from Coping With Loss, Noisey summed up the aural horror: "While it's got that all-encompassing wash typical of black metal, it only takes you into a world of pain that may not be the escapism you are looking for. Composed of seven tracks for a total running time of little over forty minutes, Coping With Loss is a frightening voyage within the bleakest depths of the most cruel sonic ruin and auditive annihilation imaginable. This album is an absolute statement in musical perversion, torture, sadism, and complete sonic savagery -- an authentic sonic ordeal that draws inspiration from a wide array of influences, spanning from raw crust-infused hardcore punk, to noise and industrial music, to the prodest and most vile moments of traditional black metal. Fans of The Body, Blut Aus Nord, and YAITW will not be disappointed.

 
American are a frightening enigma, one of those musical projects that were birthed at the outskirts of everything, at the very edge of existence, within a remote wasteland of complete anti-human introversion and detachment. Nothing is basically known about the band outside of the fact that it is formed by two obscure and recluse Virginia locals who get together cyclically to craft the meanest, most vile, putrid and desolate blackened cacophony they can materialize from their evil-corroded minds.
 
No touring or any kind of live activity and the complete reclusiveness of the duo have further enhanced the obscurity that shrouds the band, paving the way for a listening experience of their hideous sonic craft that is absolutely daunting as it howls from depths unknown.
 
Coping With Loss is OUT NOW on digital and as an extremely limited run of hand numbered cassette tapes bearing beautiful artwork crafted by Kevin Gan Yuen of Viraloptic (Viraloptic.com) and Sutekh Hexen fame.
