This is the 5th single by Bitch Falcon, a Dublin based Rock band. The drums for this song were recorded in Bow Lane studios by Robin Ball and taken from a live performance completed for the Press Record sessions. The rest of the instruments were recorded in Gavin Glass' Orphan Studios by Robin Ball before being mixed by Michael Heffernan at Lennox Street Studios. The track was mastered by Fergal Davis at Herbert Place Studios in Dublin.

From Glasgow’s fertile DIY punk scene come Breakfast Muff, a thrillingly uncompromising pop trio who will be releasing a double a-side single Babyboomers/R U A Feminist on Amour Foo Records in May. 

The songs are about sexuality, feminism and feelings and are an all-round giant dose of fun. Bandmates Eilidh McMillan (Rapid Tan, Joanna Gruesome), Simone Wilson (Hairband, Mary Column) and Cal Donnelly (Spinning Coin, Rapid Tan) switch between guitar, bass and drums in a cacophony of anxiety, celebration and creativity.

Breakfast Muff - Baby Boomers

Initially emerging in 2011, Valerian Swing cemented their place as one of most interesting bands in the Italian heavy scene, with their second album "A Sailor Lost Around The Earth", and then at an international level with 2014’s ‘Aurora’. 

Now 2017 sees the return of Valerian Swing following a change of personnel. One that saw the exit of bassist Alan Ferioli in favour of baritone guitarist Francesco Giovanetti. The trio went and created their fourth full length album, during a period of personnel, artistic growth and maturity that has seen them gradually expand their spectrum of sound beyond the boundaries of just being ‘heavy’. This latest chapter has resulted in new album ‘Nights’ that is undoubtedly their most accessible, rich and varied record to date. 

Composed last summer over a relatively short time period (by their standards) and recorded at the turn of 2016 in Bologna and Reggio Emilia, ’Night’s saw the band work with long time friend and sound engineer Raffaele Marchetti. Mixing of was handled by Matt Bayles (Mastodon, Isis, Botch, Russian Circles, Caspian) at Red Room Recording in Seattle. 

‘Nights' is a record that showcases Valerian Swing’s sublime technique and speed but unlike previous albums the aim was to focus more on the melodic construction of their songs and less on the extreme. The result is an album that explores more expansive post-rock, rhythmic and cinematic sounds. 

At certain points throughout ‘Nights’ especially with the added vocal elements, some tracks verge into experimental pop territory, an area the band were unafraid to visit. The influence of new baritone guitarist F. Giovanetti (and synths) on Valerian Swing is evident. His place in the band allowed guitarist/vocalist Stefano Villani to lead them in a more free way allowing for experimentation with computers, electronics, processed vocals and devices different from the guitar. 

Having played all over the world, including the SXSW, and having shared stages with bands of the caliber of Russian Circles, Boris and This Town Needs Guns, Valerian Swing will bring their eclectic ’Nights' in concert, first in Europe from the end of April - including a slot at Colossal Weekend in Copenhagen with Deafheaven, Oxbox and many others. 

’Nights' will be released in UK via Small Pond on 12th May. The band are set to tour in April with Alpha Male Tea Party:

Glaswegian six-piece band Pronto Mama are gearing up for the release of their hugely anticipated debut album Any Joy, due for release on 5th May 2017 via Electric Honey.

Taking inspiration from their cultural surroundings, the band have created a collection of songs about hope and hopelessness, vice and virtue and how love and friendship go hand in hand with hate and jealously. Any Joy bucks the trend of countless generic indie bands recreating the same, tired old sound, instead Pronto Mama challenge the listener to think for themselves, a process that will unearth something new every time you listen.

Blending jazzy tempos, uncommon time signatures and an alternative rock attitude with progressive pop hooks and emotive vocals, Pronto Mama have created a truly mesmeric record instantly demanding your attention. On tracks such as ‘Arabesque’, ‘Rubber’ and ‘One Trick Pony’ Pronto Mama exhibit the brass-inspired alternative indie rock that has become synonymous with artists such as Bombay Bicycle Club and Dutch Uncles; respected contemporary bands who’s sound has resonated with a generation. A more measured, introspective sound can be found on ’Bottom Feeder’ and ‘Sentiment’; tones and textures that traditionally run deep through the veins of many Scottish bands, inspiring the likes of Frightened Rabbit, The Twilight Sad and Admiral Fallow.

Like most bands, Pronto Mama began playing together as teenagers in their bedroom; a convenient escape from the sharper edges that existed in Glasgow’s east end where four of the members went to school. Initially, the band were formed when two pairs of best friends came together. Each pair comprised one core songwriter, Marc Rooney (vocals, guitar) and Ciaran McEneny (vocals, keyboard, guitar), and one member of the rhythm section, Michael Griffin (bass) and Martin Johnston (drums). Alex Sharples (trumpet, keyboard) and Craig McMahon (trombone, keyboard, percussion) later joined the band completing the line-up and Pronto Mama were officially born. They have already picked up a slew of press since their inception in 2014 with Vic Galloway’s BBC Introducing show and Jim Gelltaly’s Amazing Radio show both offering continued support throughout. The band have also appeared at T in the Park, performing on the T Break Stage, as well as Wickerman festival, Belladrum festival and selling out Oran Mor at Celtic Connections 2017.
