This is Danzi! Reggae Singer and Songwriter, Educator, Lyricist, poetizing and militating through music and message. Original from Salvador / Bahia / Brazil, DANZI has been a lover of lyrics and melodies since she was very young. Introspection found in the act of writing a way to give to the world her reflective contribution.
Alongside her band JAHFREEKA SOUL she brings a musicality to heal and raise the spirit, educating people minds with the aim of promoting evolution in attitudes.

Também são criadores do Evento “Desperta Gueto Sound System” que leva a cultura Rasta e suas vertentes às ruas da periferia, o evento também contrasta com o graffiti no intuito de estimular as habilidades de criação dos jovens do gueto.

Participou da gravação da coletânea “ARTEVIDÁDIVA” contribuindo com a faixa “Juventude” e participando da gravação de um web vídeo e dos eventos que permeavam o projeto, em regiões carentes da zona leste de São Paulo.
Atualmente está em processo de gravação de seus novos trabalhos e paralelamente tocando em casas de shows voltadas para o público do reggae como o CCPC – General Club e algumas casas da região litorânea de São Paulo.

Há quase dez anos, um encontro propiciou a junção de cinco músicos conectados por afinidades sonoras, dando inicio assim a banda, que mais tarde ganharia o nome Veja Luz. A luz que emana uma forma de fazer música presente na organicidade de se permitir experimentar o inusitado e romper fronteiras em sua essência musical. Influenciados pelo reggae jamaicano e inglês e por ritmos afrodescendentes como a Soul Music, Jazz, Blues, R&B, Hip Hop e brasilidades, a banda Veja Luz apresenta uma proposta de reggae atípico, contemporâneo, autêntico e universal.

Em 2012, lança seu primeiro álbum (homônimo) independente com participações de Dada Yute, Gerson da Conceição, Buguinha Dub, Funk Buia e Leandro Kintê, percorrendo diversos festivais de música e casas de shows pelo Brasil, em pouco mais de 4 anos ininterruptos, sendo uma das primeiras bandas de reggae à romper paradigmas em alguns desses circuitos que, até então, priorizavam artistas de outros segmentos.

Com a gravação do seu novo álbum “Escolhas”, contendo doze faixas, sendo em sua maioria canções autorais, uma regravação do artista Chico Buarque e uma intervenção poética, recitada pelo poeta Sérgio Vaz, a Banda Veja Luz desponta no cenário reggae brasileiro apresentando uma nova concepção musical em 2017.

O albúm conta com as participações especiais do Rapper Black Alien e do cantor jamaicano Al Griffiths (The Gladiators). “Escolhas” traz uma faixa DUB, mixada pelo norte-americano Victor Rice, que também assina a mixagem do disco e a masterização feita pelo engenheiro de som Felipe Tichauer, nos estúdios Redtraxx Music, em Miami (EUA).

  Xana Romeo has emerged in this time as a prolific reggae siren with a powerful and distinctive message that resonates strongly among her generation of revolutionary youth. Awakening the senses with the contrast of her soothing melodies and energetic instrumentation, Xana flutters soulfully atop cool dub rhythms and electrifies the beat with potent lyrics that energise hearts and minds.
 
Born Azana Makeda Smith on August 26, 1994 in the historic Kingston community of Greenwich Town, Xana Romeo is a singer in possession of a voice and alluring presence as captivating as her mythical name.
 
The young reggae siren’s musical education began at a tender age under the keen eyes and ears of her father, veteran Reggae singer Max Romeo, a wise teacher who encouraged his youngest daughter at every step along her natural progression.  “I look up to my dad as an idol in the music business as he's the one who inspired me to do music for the people”, Xana says. After years of patient development this child of the music stands poised to share her signature vocal stylings with the world.  Faithfully advancing along her musical path, Xana’s steady rise as a Roots, Dub, and Reggae artiste has been attracting positive attention from music lovers across the globe. Her talents extend beyond singing to also include song writing and the visual arts. This commitment to multi-dimensional creativity and self-sustainment stems from the example set by her father.
 
 “Given what I know of his substantial musical catalogue as well as his way of life, I can say from my heart he lives a life that one can model. His philosophy and ‘livity’ is close to the teachings of His Imperial Majesty, Emperor Haile Selassie of Ethiopia, and this gives inspiration along my own journey.”
