I fell in love with Jamaican styles of music in my teenage days. At the age of 16 I started collecting & playing records. I started to set up King David Soundsystem in 1995. It has always been a work in progress system. I started with 500 watts and played roughly 10k in 2010. Traveling to many places I met a lot of people and I really give thanks for a load of amazing experiences. Jah know! 
Living in Berlin since 2000 I´ve been an integral part of the local Reggae/Soundsystem scene until around 2012. Since 2022 I´m back with the new King David Soundsystem 2.0, ready to kick off my label "Ital Breakfast Records" and also proudly presenting the „Ital Breakfast Radioshow“ on https://hearticalfm.com and https://www.omyradio.net the 2nd Saturday every month.

Born in Gdynia / Poland me and my familiy came to Germany in the 1980s. Then I grew up in Mannheim, Neckarpromenade, Neckarstadt.
Since 1994 I am listening to Reggae and Dancehall.
Since 2003 I'm juggling Reggae tunes. I also drift away sometimes from Reggae towards Funk, Soul and Hip Hop.
I juggled in several clubs in Mannheim and the area around.

Seit Selecta Martin Zapata Soundz 2003 in Karlsruhe gründete hat sich die Szene und die Besetzung ständig weiterentwickelt. Derzeit besteht Karlsruhe’s No.1 Soundsystem aus Selecta Martin, Matt Shure, Jah Phil, Irie T, Dony & Miwata. Von Foundation über Modern Reggae bis zum aktuellen Dancehall rotiert auf den Tellern alles, was der Menge ein Lächeln ins Gesicht und einen Tanzwurm in die Beine zaubert. Gewürzt wird das Ganze mit Live-Einlagen der talentierten MC’s Jah Phil, Dony & Miwata.
Zapata Soundz sind in der Szene mittlerweile weit über Karlsruhe hinaus bekannt. Die monatliche „More Fire“ Party-Reihe in Karlsruhe läuft seit 2007 konstant gut und gehört zu den am besten besuchten Reggae/ Dancehall Regular-Partys in Deutschland. Mit Liebe und Leidenschaft teilte sich das Karlsruher Soundsystem hier bisher die Bühne mit namhaften Artists wie Mono & Nikitaman, Toke, Nosliw, Irie Revoltes, Rebellion the Recaller, Trettmann, Uwe Kaa, Kabaka Pyramid, Skarra Mucci, Cornadoor uvm. oder international bekannten Soundsystems wie Pow Pow Movement, Soundquake, Jugglerz oder Silly Walks Discotheque.
Auch außerhalb von Karlsruhe sind Zapata Soundz viel unterwegs. In den letzten Jahren wurden fast wöchentlich Gigs in ganz Deutschland von München bis Hamburg und auch in Holland, Frankreich & Thailand gespielt. Der Zapata Soundz MC – MIWATA, der seit Januar 2010 dabei ist und bei Zapata Soundz die erste Bühnenerfahrung sammeln konnte, sorgt mittlerweile auch als Solo-Künstler in Deutschland, Österreich und der Schweiz für Furore. Sein Mixtape „Auf dem Weg Richtung Sonne“ vom Juli 2012 (Jugglerz-Records) fand sehr große Beachtung und bekam überwältigendes Feedback. Er gilt als die neue Hoffnung für Reggae in Deutschland und wurde im Jahr 2016 beim Voting des RIDDIM-Magazins als drittbester Artist, direkt nach Gentleman und Trettmann, in der nationalen Reggae-Szene gewählt. Im Februar 2014 erschien seine EP “Neumond” die direkt auf Platz EINS der deutschen Reggae-Charts und auf
Platz 32 in den nationalen Album-Charts geklettert ist.

Lil Bit of Heaven is a new single from Southern California-based artist, Forces Unknown . A member of Smashpop Collective, which also features artists like Recworm, L.O.R.D., Dominic Bowen, and DJ Limegreen. Forces Unknown has been musically involved since 1995 and blessed to perform on the same stages with the likes of Wutang Clan, Immortal Technique, Dilated Peoples, Living Legends, RA the Rugged Man, Atmosphere, Sage Francis, The Shapeshifters, Gift of Gab, Freestyle Fellowship, Mr. Brady, Cypress Hill, Psycho Realm, Far East Movement, Typical Cats, The Visionaries , Masta Ace, Jeru da Damaja, etc...
This latest track boasts a surreal, synth-driven backing that’s brimming with melodic appeal. The beat has just the right amount of bass and balances nicely with the enchanting, music. The lyrical delivery is high octane and engaging. Forces Unknown rhymes with a determined intensity. His style reminds be a bit of slam poetry, with its charismatic energy. His voice is powerful, and you could tell people would still listen to this even if there was no music at all.
As the title implies, Lil Bit of Heaven incorporates spiritual metaphors into its message of courage, love and perseverance. There’s actually some really phenomenal singing on this track, which was pleasantly unexpected as I was expecting this to be just a straightforward hip hop jam. The vocals are beautiful and deliciously soulful. Lil Bit of Heaven delivers plenty of action, while somehow managing to retain an insightful and endearing innocence.
