Following the release of Faulter’s Obstinacy earlier this year, we’ve turned two long-standing CF regulars and welcome two newcomers to provide their takes on the label co-founder’s debut club collection.

As with the original, the remix EP unfolds in 2 halves: a pair of minimal-rooted 4-to-the-floor club tools, followed by a heady ‘B-side’ steeped in techno and IDM.

Label mainstay Syz kicks things off with a bouncy rendering of the title track in signature production style with his ‘Space Carnival Mix’, while the elusive B. McQueen dives into Zaf, providing a skippy, rolling tech-house backbone that brings the dubby elements of the original track into full club mode.

On the flip, it’s a genuine pinch-me moment at CFHQ to feature one of our all-time favourites, Forest Drive West, transforming Perspectives into an unforgettable slo-mo chug-dub-techno trip full of the intensity only he can deliver. Rounding off, our best-loved Bristolian Yushh leans into the 90bpm range with her Swamp-pusher remix, a twisted headfuck of a beat (good luck dancing to this one), reminiscent of early Squarepusher productions.

Pieter Dudal & Adriaan De Roover are set to release their collaborative album "Pivot Rotations" next month - a continuously mixed collage of tape loops largely taken from recordings made at live shows in Ghent, Brussels, and Meakusma Festival in Eupen.

"b" is the third track on the album, although its arrival becomes unnoticeable during the listening experience, as it drifts seamlessly between motifs and textures. The piece, and much of the album by that matter, is smothered in the warm fuzz of tape hiss - providing a comfortable constant throughout the piece for the mind to drift into.

Dudal & De Roover - b [Viernulvier Records]

From their debut collaborative EP No One Moves Alone on Kindergarten Records, “Middle Ground” captures the duo’s fluid chemistry intertwining Bristol’s percussive intensity with New York’s experimental pulse. Out November 20.

With “Over Empathy”, Kletis continues his exploration of the misty borderlands between techno, bass music and dubs, delivering a dense, poetic and introspective EP where sound itself seems to breathe under the rain. Born in the humid forests of northern Czechia, his sonic world carries the mark of a half-lit realm, heavy with melancholy yet vibrating with restrained strength.

Each track shapes a shifting landscape, both dark and hypnotic, from the subterranean tension of Parametric to the organic pulse of RukaRuka, leading to the fragile beauty of the title track Over Empathy, the true heartbeat of the release. Two remixes extend this journey, Fallen Tape unveils a mystical and ethereal vision, like an echo from another plane, while Sub Accent reveals a more vivid, dub-infused energy.

Balancing inner fog and ritual depth, Kletis sculpts music that seeks not to belong but to feel, a language of textures, shadows and light, where every frequency turns into vibration and empathy becomes sound.

[ER012] Kletis - Over Empathy (Previews)

with »redsuperstructure«, robert lippok created a new foundation for his musical endeavors. now – 7 years later – this system properly comes to life on »applied autonomy«. the title of the new album is a clear indicator as to what the berlin-based producer has been up to during the last couple of years, both on a conceptual level as well as how he molds his ideas into tracks.

»applied autonomy« orchestrates a certain state of frantic standstill, which occurs once a structure is set. has this state been reached, the artist is free to focus on other equally important aspects, balancing the various shades, pushing ideas even further to really make them shine and blossom in their self-declared autonomy. the more light one lets in, the more layers become visible.

layers are key when it comes to understanding »applied autonomy«. big chunks of the material with which the album has been produced derive from sketches specifically made for a club performance.

rather than meticulously devising each and every detail, lippok focussed instead on recording as many fragments as possible in a short period of time, elements which he could later combine and layer on stage. based on this material and his experience experimenting with it in a live environment, the album slowly began to shape. an album culminating in a collaboration with klara lewis, with whom lippok spent 2 days at the EMS studios in stockholm, approaching the idea of autonomy from yet another angle. during the session, both musicians played and performed simultaneously, yet not explicitly together, lost in their own thoughts and ideas, only subconsciously taking in what the other one was coming up with. the result is »samtal«, 14 minutes of a constantly evolving state of poise, magically connecting all the dots lippok had already defined as »applied autonomy«.

the artwork for »applied autonomy« has been created by the berlin-based argentinian artist lucas gutierrez. over the last couple of years, he has made a name for himself with his spectacular AV performances.
