We all break in different ways and we all have addictions that people may not notice on the surface but when you have tried everything to overcome them, where do you turn to?  This song reflects on the values that may lead our decisions and is off my album "Snow Day." This album touches on mental health, resilience and rebuilding.  I was inspired to write this after watching the final episode of White Lotus, where the patriarch of his family was willing to kill himself and family to avoid living poor after he committed fraud.

Influenced by vocalists and songwriters like David Ruffin, Smokey Robinson, Michael Jackson and Ryan Leslie to name a few, he noticed a recent void in making timeless songs.  Singer, songwriter, producer and actor RA unsKrypted (born Rapheal Dejaughn Miller), will be like your favorite wine, something you have to savor. RA is committed to being "unsKrypted" which represents being true to you and being unrehearsed. Refusing to stay in "the box," RA also coined the word "unsKrypted" because of his diverse musical influence, which includes blue grass soul, rock, reggaeton, folk and r&b.  Sharing the same birthday as R Kelly and Elvis, January 8th, RA is setting his site on being a king in music in his own right.

RA's testing ground is Chicago, IL where critics are vast and the origin of house, blues and soul music resides. Many breaking artists put in the groundwork well before their "Big Break" and RA is no exception. Being classically trained in vocal performance from Grammy board vocal coach, Lyndia Johnson, and coming from a family history of music including Grammy award winning producer, Maurice Joshua, RA has honed his craft to deliver to his ultimate audience. Under his mother, Tina Miller’s, management, RA had already been signed to 2 independent recording contracts but RA felt creatively restricted and this served as a mini music mogul boot camp. Although his name may be new to you, from the age of 16, RA has already frequented the airwaves of Chicago's most popular radio stations from B96 to WGCI, starred in several hit plays throughout the Chicago land area including Raisin in the Sun and Larinda Brown's Favor Ain't Fair, performed on BET network and opened up for Montell Jordan, R Kelly's Public Announcement, Jeremih, and Paul Wall just to name a few.  Growing up with Chance the Rapper and Juice World and Lil Bibby’s super producer, Don Robb, RA was always around talent and the courage it takes to bring it to the world and standing out was the norm due to some of these influences. 

A chance meeting with Jeremih’s DJ, promoter and former Bad Boy A&R, T Taylor, who started several premier open mics in Chicago, such as R&B at Rumba, Celeb Open Mic and Showtime at the Dusable, opened up doors for RA to perform alongside Power star, Rotimi, The Voice finalist, Sandy Red and Day 26, Drey Skonie. From the footage gathered during one of these performances with hip hop artist and friend, A-Way, they used this footage as an audition tape which landed them on BET performing their local hit, Nina, for which renown video director, Azae, shot the video which started an avalanche of local attention and TV exposure from radio stations interviews to over 100000 World Star views for Nina’s video.  With confidence built after performing on a globally aired network and garnering regional attention, RA felt how close his dreams could be as he also met Kendrick Lamar during his time in New York for 1 of his 3 appearances on BET where Kendrick gave him his blessing as a Chicago native himself right before he performed on Saturday Night Live following the release of Good Kid Maad City.
