With over two decades actively searching for music and with a bunch of legendary dj sets behind his back, [d.y] is one of the most experienced and significant figures of Hungarian electronic underground. To date he is a restless selector, and makes no compromise when it comes to style – his sets are characterized by musical versatility and unmached mixing skills.

I was born in Antwerp, Belgium in 1969 under my real name Erik de Smet. So I've seen the house and trance scene evolve from the new beat era in the front row and this at my favorite clubs La Rocca, Cherry Moon, Extreme,...in Belgium.
In my twenties I lived next to the record store “Blitz”, home of Bonzaï records, where I came every week to buy my records together with the DJ legends from the golden era. 
My DJ career in the 90's was limited to playing in youth clubs and at private parties until digital media made its appearance and I pressed the pause button (for 20 years…)
Thanks to the Monkeys,  I got the bug again to practice my passion further and started playing exclusively with vinyl again.

My style has evolved in the meantime and is mainly leaning towards the Progressive house/trance style, especially from the period 1990-2007. As an avid vinyl record collector, I still discover new things among the classics every day. I am happy that I can share my passion with others and let everyone relive those golden times and magic moments from the past era.
