Als stolzes Mitglied des Kollektivs "scheißmukke" zeichnet er sich durch eine unvergleichliche musikalische Reise aus, die sowohl energetisch als auch trippig ist. Mit einer minimalen und doch progressiven Note von Trance und Techno bezaubert er das Publikum stets auf's Neue.

Degen verlässt sich vorwiegend auf Vinyl, wobei sein Fokus besonders auf oldschool Platten liegt. Diese Passion für elektronische Musik ist nicht nur hörbar, sondern auch spürbar, wenn man ihm bei einem seiner Sets zuhört. We had the pleasure of experiencing a mesmerizing mix crafted by the talented Alina, better known as DJ VENUSSS. Hailing from Cologne, Germany, this young and promising DJ is more than just a music enthusiast – she's a devoted dancer and a staunch advocate of the local rave scene.
For years, Alina has found herself immersed in the world of DJs and club/dance music, surrounded by the pulsating beats and vibrant energy of her city's nightlife. However, it wasn't until the year 2020 that she took the plunge and tried her hand at DJing for the very first time. From that moment onwards, she became utterly captivated by the art of mixing and crafting music.
DJ VENUSSS has since become a formidable presence in the scene, cultivating a distinct sound that seamlessly blends the jungle atmosphere with bleepy, hypnotic techno, all while infusing it with a funky and groovy edge. Berlin-based ZentaSkai presents ‘The Architecture Of The Mind LP’, the debut album on MASK. We premiere ‘Structural Understanding’, a stripped-back house groove that leans on dub traditions and chilling hazy atmospheres.

ZentaSkai undertook a period of research into the underlying structure and organisation of the human brain before writing ‘The Architecture Of The Mind’. The Berlin-based artist then took what had been learned and kept it in mind when writing the music that marks Mask’s first album release. It comes with extensive background notes on each track, and an operational manual of sorts – notes from the artists as to the effects each piece will have on those who hear them.

“The message conveyed by this album is that life itself is filled with music, but our egos often prevent us from being in harmony with this symphony. Inner chaos and silence can be challenging to bear, leading us to seek solace in external noise. We have constructed a barrier between our inner and outer worlds, causing us to lose touch with the rhythm of harmony. However, by embracing the illusion of separation and dancing to good music, we can rediscover harmony with ourselves and our environment. To fully experience the essence of the album, it should be played loudly on a proper sound system or high-quality headphones. By immersing themselves in the music, individuals can engage with its transformative power and potentially find a deeper connection with their own minds and surroundings.” – ZentaSkai.

We premiere ‘Structural Understanding’, a dubby house groove straight from the soul, as ZentaSkai leans on wandering dub chords and smoke-filled pads. The layed back rhythm is laced with crisp 909 percussive swing and reverb-soaked soundscapes, creating a lush dancefloor cut, that is made for early morning swaying.
